The D600 (and D610 and D700) have been, and remain, excellent choices for a budget-friendly transition to a full frame DSLR.

I have a d610. I have no need to change. The bottom line is, does it take quality images ? Absolutely. Why would I change. Love mine to bits. Reliable, I only use nikon lenses. It's a bit heavy, but I can cope with that.

Ive owned one for years. Did weddings, architecture. Just a pleasure to work with. It gets out of the way and you have total control without getting into menus. Loves tve grip. Why i sold i needed the money back then. I actually had to sell all my gears and pro 2.8 lenses. Looking at the fujifilm tx30, but i thibk when i do get a body soon it will be the the d600. Its just a work horse and good for architectural photography. Love your channel. Ive subscribed. God bless.

Never owned a D600 but did touch a friend's D610. Based on my experience with the D700 and D810, I agree with the assessment. Those looking for a used body as an entry into the FF DSLR should give the D600/D610 consideration.

I bought my D600 in 2022 so I'm calculating it's a ten year old body. It came with experience, like 5000 shutter actuation worth of know hows. It' a real looker though, appearing like it was just delivered from the factory packaging. In contrast to my D70, it's like hopping out of a Model A and into a Lamborghini. I guess they call it a WOW factor, huh? And to add even more excitement to my recent acquisition, all my auto focus lenses fit and work on it. Yup, life is pretty darn good. I do have one stumbling block, however, my much beloved FM, FE and N8008s bodies along with an assortment of lenses remain neatly packed away in a camera tote awaiting the resurgence of film. Whatcha think, anytime soon? Like you, I have a long history with Nikon. Lest I forget, I enjoyed your energetic presentation and I also hit the like. Thanks for sharing. Actually I've viewed it three times. Great job, seriously.

I still have and use my D600 as my second body. I love this camera. Thanks for reviewing it. I did not realize it had +/- 5 exposure compensation.

I was surprised that the specs on the Nikon D600 were that good (I'm a Canon guy, so don't really know much about Nikons). I don't see any reason to not continue using it if I owned one. The resolution is pretty decent. Another good episode Alex.... take care and we'll see you next time.

Anyone who thinks Nikon fixed the D600 problem has won the D600 lottery. But not hard to live with, given the awesome raw quality, if willing to clean the sensor as needed.

Been seeing a ton of reviews of old cameras.. I still have my Canon 20D and it still works great as a 8.2MP camera. People even pulling the original 7D. Great times.. That Atom light looks pretty killer. Be a great light painting tool as well. Good luck to all.

I am still using the 7D mk I at the studio I set up for one of the companies I work for. 99.9% of the images I make for them are for the website or e-commerce, but occasionally we've printed buntings and large format prints and it looks perfectly fine

I was thinking about getting this camera as a low cost smallish full frame for street photography. I already got a few Nikon FX lenses. Anyone think that's a good idea in 2023?

For whatever it's worth, dxomark rates the IQ of 600/610 above many heavier priced cameras.
