I recommend considering the Fly Orion or Fly Sion bikes, as they both have high dirt scores and good quality ratings. Doug made the dirt jump video ! You forgot to touch on headtube angle and chainstay length are most important 74.5-74 degree headtube angle and at least 13.5” chainstay and as you said 20.75 top tube minimum and would add a 33mm offset on the forks all these = great control and feel on the trails

I love BMX but IMO if you're new to BMX and 5'10" or taller, seriously consider a dirt jumper. Similar reach but longer wheel base. I bought a Kink Gap XL and found it small. Short wheelbase and small wheels making you feel like looping out too often. Now I'm riding a medium GT Labomba and it feels like a BMX my size should.

I bought the 20.75 inch haro midway and I am 5 10. I think it’s kinda small, but now that I am used to it, it’s not too bad. But I am seriously considering buying a dirt jumper. Just don’t know which one as I am on a serious budget because I’m swapping jobs haha. But the midway has done me good when it comes to the smaller trail jumps we jump. Not kid stuff but smaller than what you guys probably ride.

@@BennyAndTheJets86 DJs are faster and more stable then BMX. Norco and GT both have a long lineage in BMX and make great DJs that aren't astronomically priced. Canyon also makes a fully loaded DJ with all the features for a comparable price. There are cheaper steel frames, but the above offer aluminum with tapered steer tubes and built in axle/chain tensioners.

Ill preface this with the disclaimer that im mainly an enduro/downhill rider, and despite owning a bmx im nowhere near 'good'. I've been riding a kink cloud 2020 recently on some jumps and step ups id usually reserve for atleast my Hardtail. 75°ha ,25mm fork offset, 13.25 seatstay so its quite steep and twitchy however ive not looped out, and only had one time ive had to throw the bike away from me. honestly been such a great feeling, (mtb)whips feel very clicked, got a nice xup, and been getting more height than i thought i would. i have to say i may start bringing it out more a year ago id have walked away from the step up but the added confidence from riding the Bmx over it has been incredible. id suggest giving the bmx a chance to shine on bigger jumps if ypu feel comfortable,

I got the Fly Orion for riding pump tracks and love it. One thing to note they dropped the price from $719 usd 2022 to $549 usd in 2023.
