Love watching you look through a newly-acquired collection! Once again, a guy who massively set off my CDO with his "organization skills," lol! Who actually STORES their s*** that way?!? Anywho…love these vids. Looking forward to the next batch.

It’s criminally underrated. Those books used to be highly sought after and fetched a premium as they were/are hard to find out in the wild. Real low print run. People seem to have forgotten about that spectacular run.

These savage collectors who don't organize their boxes. 😡 Curious, do you just go hunting and then go home and throw them in a box and never go back and look at them again(it's clear there's no reading going on)? I've seen a ton of collection videos where it seems this is the case. To wit: WHAT IS THE POINT 🤷🏽♂️ The thrill of the hunt is fine but why waste time AND money that way?
@dwaynesmith94823 ай бұрын
Dude at this moment I have over 26,200+ comics. I only organize boxes by, Marvel, DC and all else goes into the Indy boxes. Everything is logged into CLZ then I leave it alone. That’s all way too much energy
@Mr_Rob_otto3 ай бұрын
@@dwaynesmith9482Same. Once you amass a large amount of books, it gets overwhelming and takes a lot of time and work to try to re-organize.
@sulumonlives49323 ай бұрын
Not knowing where anything is takes more energy. I take runs and/or artists out of my collection and display/show them to those around me who are interested. You can't do that if you don't organize and don't know where everything is; THAT, would take more energy. 🤷🏽♂️m@@dwaynesmith9482

Heard, but how do you actually appreciate your efforts to collect if you don't organize? Alpha numeric by big two and indies . . . At least? 😬@@Mr_Rob_otto

I don’t understand why Gary keeps apologizing for the lack of major keys. I like looking at variants and modern books that I’m not aware of. There are a lot of future keys in there, which of course, aren’t going to have a lot of value for years to come. Maybe never, but the owner of this collection really bought into the spec market.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they suck, but, yeah, for some reason people fell in love with his stuff and now publishers are flooding the market with Scottie Young variants. I can take it or leave it.

I genuinely don’t understand the interest in getting writers and artists to sign and deface books they’ve worked on. Do they really fetch more on the secondary market? Sure, books signed by Stan, Jack, and the early big boys are valuable but that’s because they’re more scarce and they aren’t around anymore. (Other than Stan who went on a signing spree as he aged). And I get modern big boys like McFarlane and Liefeld, though there are so many of their signed books out there now. But artists like Parillo or Tynion? Who cares? The comic book community idolizes and has turned these people into minor celebrities, which to me is nuts. It’s all a money grab. By the artists, their management, and the re-sellers. I don’t get it.

Personally I wouldn’t get the G. I. Joe 21 signed. No disrespect to Larry Hama but the guy signs everything.
