We were introduced to the lawyer by our realtor after we had an accepted offer on the condo. At that point, we were back stateside and finished the rest of the process from there. We found Ian Shaw in Playas del Coco when we were looking for a place. His contact info can be found in the description of that video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5DTf6SGZs-Xj6M There are no real estate license requirements in Costa Rica, so always make sure you find one you feel comfortable with and don't just end up with the owner's brother's sister-in-law's hair stylist showing you the place. Most important thing is to make sure you always use a lawyer with any large financial transactions in Costa Rica. Always.

We have hired a property manager to help us in that regard until we move down full time. But primarily it is our home away from home.
