Interested to see you moved to Jaco. Good central location. I have travelled to most of the Pacific side. Each area has its unique beauty. Depends what you want. Osa penninsula is greener in the winter months, has the Cocovado National park and is much quieter than Guanacaste. Manuel Antonio is beautiful. I stop for coffee at Villa Caletas near Jaco, just for the view. Tamarindo is a fun place with a good beginner surf beach. I have stayed near there several times. I know where I would like to end up. Adventure is fun, car rental companies are a ripoff, but most credit cards will pay the insurance on a vehicle less than 6 passengers, but you must have a printed copy to give them or they will find a way around it. I have an undeveloped lot near Jaco with a 360 view. Love Costa Rica.

You may have addressed this in other videos but what is the mask culture in CR? Are they mandatory or does it depend where you are and personal preference?

Masks need to be worn inside stores, banks etc... you do not need to wear them outdoors. No one is arguing over it either which is nice. Overall people are just going about their daily lives.

I was there 3 years ago. The beach is not good and the water is not great for swimming. The people are great and the area is very liveable. I would not go back there just for the beach. Still enjoy Costa Rica very much. It is not on my next visit wish list.
