Tucson is a gorgeous area. I went on a work trip back in 2010 and while I was there I made it up to Kitt Peak National Observatory. It's a great place, not a lot of people and while I was there I was able to get an inside tour of a few of the big telescopes they have up there. It's pretty amazing if you're really into Astronomy.

Hi Kevin, Kitt Peak National Observatory Awesome paved road to the top Beautiful places you can see for miles and miles. You can tour and go inside the domes.....Elevation 6,864 feet The Joshua cactus/ cholla cactus is the one you were trying to get a picture of. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum this all live things plant and animal that are there awesome place even birds. Put your dog in stroller and stay on the paths It is worth every penny to see. Next place Mount Lemmon again just beautiful views. 9,157 feet You can drive some of it..... Airplane bone yard. you can drive around the out side. Go for it you do it all. the canal comes down throw there too. Dad and I sat up in the truck and watch them working on it. The people are awesome. Blue will take you, there is mountains on all four side of the city. There mines and cave. You well love love it. In April every thing start Flowering. Enjoy enjoy enjoy.....

I did not know that AZ. has such beautiful places. The area around Tucson has real beauty and character. I really like it there. Blue looks great. My Ford Windstar is called Blue also. Mine is a midnight blue metallic color. Kind of getting faded and worn. But she is true Blue. Thanks for sharing the pack with us and I am so glad that Baby MaeMae is feeling fine. Kevin, stay away from that cactus! It's called cholla, or "jumping cactus". It will literally do that to you if you get too close. Those stickers are murder to get out. Sometimes it takes months for some of them to push out of yr skin. I got some in my leg golfing, instantly started bleeding. Very scary stuff! So watch the furbabies around that stuff. Congratulations on yr new ride!

Keeii Aann they don’t literally jump, the “needles” are just very loose and stick on very easily.

1. That bush is a Cholla also known as a jumping cactus. Keep the babies away from it or you'll be picking the needles out for weeks. 2. So nice to see and hear the babies! 3. No a/c no problem. Carry a spray bottle of water, spritz with it and it helps a lot if you let the wind in or a 12v under dash. Cheers to you Kevin!

Graduated from Santa Rita High, Tucson AZ 1974!!!! Left there in 1979 for Washington. I was there for a week or so in 2016, missed those views. They're watching for ET's ! :) So many memories... used to ride my bicycle around neighborhoods while I did laundry at the laundry mat... I remember the sweet smells of the citrus trees. Also...congratz on your new rig. I just bought a wrangler.

Welcome to Tucson, I’ve been here 50 years! The cactus is a Cholla cactus. I live on the Far East Side of Tucson.The Mountain closest that has snow at times is Mt. Lemmon, you ought to check it out , but with our heat wave they’ve only gotten snow a couple times I think this winter. Congratulations on your find! Hi to the babies.

That's the part of AZ where I lived for a few years. It is different from anything else I've seen. Mr. Will told you right on that cactus name - Stay Away Cactus. Watching this video makes me want to go back and see it again.

Bill Long yep stay aways because when the needles get you and i swear they jump off the cactus if you get too close anyway there is something on the end of their needles that causes a lot of pain for a couple weeks where it punctures your skin.

Congratulations from a Georgia girl. We full time rv now and do volunteer work. We visited Tucson and the Saguaro National Park. Check it out if you have a chance. I believe the other catus is better know as the jumping catcus or jumping cholla. Happy trails to you and the pups.

That is a Cholla cactus.Pronounced (Choya), also called Jumping cactus because if you brush up against it, that part will break off and stick to you. Very Painful. Nice Tracker, lucky you found one with paint and interior in such good condition.

Tucson is very nice...People are very friendly there...not rude like in Phoenix. I lived a summer in Tucson when I did my internship, such a friendly town! There's a jumping cactus out there...be careful you'll learn "cactus 101 in a hurry if you get one in you" lol My Lemon is really cool Kevin..check it out!! Its where the ski hill is!! Hey Kevin, yep, AZ is the place to shop for an older car. Nice find. Hey on Tucson, definitely check out the sites around there. For sure go to the Sonora Desert Museum, if the weather is ok for the pups, and enjoy the drive to get there and then the walk inside to see the desert animals and plant displays. Absolutely a unique and educational experience. I dream of going back there again. Kitt Peak was a great experience too, but liking Astronomy gets you motivated to make the journey up the mountain (need a car in good shape to make it). -Tom

Congrats Kevin new Tracker looks good. If you are still in the area go on down to Sierra Vista and Bisbee. Sierra Vista has Fort Huachuca and you can visit the Military Museums there (You just have to sign in and get a visitor pass). Bisbee has lots of little shops its an old Hippie community :-) Great places to visit and cool temps at 4000+ ft
