Ordered for only 10eur more the hbxa pro. Only 1 battery but already have plenty and the bigger motor and metal gears and driveshafts makes the 10eur worth a lot more. The most fun I have with a rc car is always with this little 1/16. Parts are also cheap and available everywhere considering the number of clones they have. You can never go wrong with any version, even the brushed one is very very good and reliable.

At the back the double wishbone is missing. Instead there is a little plastic bar for the top one that just presses onto a ball. Mine forever pops out which leaves the backwheel hanging and a search for the dogbone. Have you still got both cars? I wondered if the 16889 rear top wishbone can be easily added? If you have a moment also what dictates ride height difference? are shocks just shorter or different arms? Apart from that cars cracking.

If I remember rightly it is interchangeable. Because the FTX Tracer is the same setup with a rod instead of the wishbone. I think one mounts on the shock towers and one on the diff cover. 👍

Great review and breakdown. I have the Hbx version of this and it’s a ton of fun for what these cost. Think I paid like $90 (US) for mine! They are tough. The only thing that has broken so far on it is the rear spoiler which I epoxied back together! Awesome rig! Definitely deserve praise in the Rc world! 💪🏼👊🏼❤️😊

The rear shocks are mounted on the back and I think they were a bit shorter, also wing?And the difference end there.Great little basher.

I’ve a brushless 16889 Destroyer and it’s great but what a discovery though the same platform and the metal drivetrain and diffs (Pro version) and I e not looked yet but it has to be cheaper?? I’ve only upgraded the shocks on mine as the metal diffs etc cost too much, I was going to buy a pro instead of the parts and do the upgrade myself as a pro worked out cheaper. I’ll get one of these now a top video 😎👍

Many apologies for the late reply. The only advice i would give is make sure everything that is meant to have lube is lubricated. This particular RC has all the extras, so the only thing worth changing is the electronics. But i would only bother if they fail. Thanks for your comments!!

Hello Peter. The 16889A has the small 2435 and the PRO has the larger 2847/45. This larger motor is the one used in the Flyhal FC600 and the new Eachine EC30B. Incidentally Eachine also have there version of the FC600 out as well. 👍😄

In my head I had it as 16889. Brushed motor 16889a. and 16889a pro have different motors but both in the high 3000s Kv. Then I see this one says it's motor is a 3000 Kv so I assumed that it is smaller. Or is it just so insignificant?

@@peteralbury7724 Kv has nothing to do with the physical size of the motor. It's basically a ratio of input voltage to theoretical RPM output. With lots of other mitigating factors thrown in for good measure. 👍

Just realized that the motor on this is just a 3000kv compared to the 3900kv on the 16889a pro 😢 Wish I would have noticed that before making the order.

I would take the Kv rating with a pinch of salt. All of the brushless versions of this truck have the same quoted top speed Flyhal and HBX. Don't forget HBX makes the Flyhal, and in my past experience they are identical. Are they really going to bother putting different motors in on the production line for two identical chassis? 😊👍

long ago................ but i doubt you could notice that, on 2s with included li-po batteries the car goes from zero to full speed almost instantly. They are powerful and weigh next to nothing.

I bought this FC600 earlier today with discounts from Banggood for $78. Ive watch all the videos on KZbin there is of both this and the HBX 16889A Pro. For me the HBX seems punchier in acceleration but this Flyhal handles, jumps and lands more balanced. Am I wrong?

I couldn't honestly say. There may be a slight Kv difference between the two. But essentially they are identical RC's, HBX actually makes the FC600 for Flyhal. Has your Flyhal got different viscosity oil in the shocks? Might make it feel a bit more planted on your favourite terrain. 😄👍

@@RayRiv73 it will be identical. Flyhal cherry pick RC's from different manufacturers and badge them up as there own. Then sell them at a discount. Flyhal FC610 is a HBX 2995 in different clothes for half the money (or it was) see review). Same with the Flyhal FC650 which is basically an XLF buggy. Again when it was first released it was half the money of the XLF (on Banggood at least). I'm not entirely sure how they get away with it? 😄👍

I just got one in the mail, first RC car for me, I followed all the instructions for assembly and charging the battery. I turn the remote on, then the car, headlights go on, beeps a couple times and then the ESC blinks blue constantly and I can’t get it to function. Read that blinking blue could be low voltage/battery? Using a smart charger I have discharged and balanced charged the battery and it’s showing full charge and still no luck. Any suggestions for this newb?

The only thing I can suggest is make sure the transmitter battery's are good. And you could try re-pairing the transmitter and receiver. But I'm not sure exactly how you do it. There may be something online about it. Sorry I couldn't be more help. 👍👍

I bought one of these for Christmas and didn't use loctite on the nut holding the wheel on like people recommended. Any chance you know a part number to replace it? I've been looking all over and can't figure out the right part.

crazy late i know but might help someone else. it is a bog standard 4mm locking nut available from any hardware store anywhere. Just a 4mm nut might do with threadlock but your skimping out at that point.

Do you mean the FC600 and a 16889 brushless conversion? I would say for the money the FC600 because it's already done for you. It used to be sold on Banggood for £65 which was a ridiculously good deal!!! Obviously they soon sold out at that! But even at the new price it's still a bit of a bargain. If you wanted to upgrade it at some future point, you could possibly get hold of a higher Kv motor and get a bit of easy speed that way. But they are quite nippy out of the box! If you do decide on purchasing one please consider using the link in the description because it helps out the channel loads! 👍😊👍

Well, the only difference is that the HBX Pro has more KV which gives it better acceleration and more and more horses.

Well, not true. I got both, they share the same 2840 motor with 3800KV. Only difference is the rear upper A-Arms, which are stiffer in the HBX 16889
