This is a longer video going over about everything for a brushless swap on your Haiboxing 2995. It's already a great, inexpensive backyard 1:12 basher...this takes it up a notch. I go over a few specifics, I ramble too...so skip around as needed. Let me know if you like me to show you the actual process of swapping it over. Driving video next. It's now 55% faster with the same stock battery. Also, batteries last longer now. Let me know if you have questions.
Time needed if you have everything: 30min to 1.5hr depending on how fast you are. I slowly did it as parts came in.
Tools needed:
Small Phillips screwdriver, electric drill, drill bits (3/16" and 1/4"or so), small hobby saw/hack saw or grinder/dremel.
Here's the Major parts list:
12" long or so zip ties

Yup make sure the motor shaft on the brushless motor is long enough. Nice upgrade! Cool trick you can swap the rear suspension side to side to have the shocks on outside of suspension. I think it helps the look

Seems like you said something about silicone earplugs...but I can't find the comment. Are you talking about firming up the F/R differential balance? If so, I've heard about that but never did it.

Dude, in a brushless motor the voltage limit has more to do with physical limits that the motor can withstand (bearings vs rpm; mechanical stress vs centrifugal force). A small motor like this can handle 4, 5, 6 times the nominal voltage indicated by the manufacturer. Of course not for long or another problem arises: heating. He can literally melt :D I've a Flyhal fc610, basically, the same chassis, etc. I'll follow your steps when I decide to put out de 550 brushed motor he has. Central differential...what an huge plus, isn't it ? Thanks 4 U vid

You are welcome. Seems like quite a few folks were unsure how to do this as it's not a big name car. It's not so bad really.

Ours the ESC died with in 5 minutes of use, swapped the Esc, Tx/Rx , with hobby grade stuff, but now put a cheap Brushless system in it

I just used a heavy duty tractor grease that I use when I grease the tractor. You could use wheel bearing grease from an auto parts store or from a tractor supply/farm store.

Good video. I ordered a 3300kv brushless motor... Now I'm wondering what pinion size I should get. I had intended to use the stock one but sounds like it won't fit. My motor is same size as one you used. Maybe with lower kv I should increase to a 17t or something. Any recommendations?
@thuhintimidator
@thuhintimidator Жыл бұрын
Ha, I wish I could recall. It's been a minute. Can't remember if higher or lower kv gets ya more rpm or more torque. You won't be lacking on power any direction you go on tooth numbers. Larger will be higher speed in total.

If you drill out the mounting holes for the motor into slots, you can change the gear on the motor to smaller/larger

Hello, since you look like to have a lot of experience, can you tell me what parts will fit hbx 16886 1\14 scale? PArts not available anywhere but i suspect it shares parts with other hbx models or even other brands.

My experience really just comes car by car as I mess with them. I have a little more experience with the Bezgars. Much of this is trial and experience. Not many parts available. I myself would wonder if parts from the 18859s would swap over. That or the bezgar 1/12 scale. What are you looking for?

@@thuhintimidator nothing In particular since nothing has broken yet but would be nice to know where I could get parts is something fails. I have a blackzon 1/16, same as hbx 16889 and I bet the motor is the same as well as diffs even though this has them in metal and blackzon are plastic. Maybe parts from 12885 or 901a would fit...

The shocks you have in your description fit even thought they are 1:10 and the car is 1:12?
@thuhintimidator
@thuhintimidator 2 жыл бұрын
One thing to realize with these chinese rip-snorters... the physical size difference between a labelled "1:10" scale and "1:12" is very very little. In fact, they often build upon the chassis of each other. So back to your question, absolutely those will fit. They may lift your rig up a little, but not a lot. I run them on my Bezgar 1:12th brushless rig that is very similar. I use 30wt oil from Losi. Hope that helps.

The stock servo is a 3 wire and still works fine with the aftermarket controls. So, the stock one. There are good replacements out there though

@@bluddywulf6796 with my newer build that is not an option. I actually just ended up getting a new light rack that will connect directly to my new reciever. I couldn't find the right connectors to get the stock lightning with my new brushless motor/esc combo. If I missed something feel free to add input.
