This might be the best starting point for a RESTORATION series instead of a big show of mods. Rebuild the 4G, dry ice the undercarriage, keep the factory color, etc. No cutting! Keep it a time capsule.

In 2003 When the Evo 8 first came to the USA, in California at least I was the 2nd Registered owner of an Evo 8 in the State. The 1st was registered by Mitsubishi for a press car. Was a great car and miss it to this day!! Looking forward to whatever you guys are going to do, PLEASE don't do wide body on the gem. Just go OEM+ and it will be PERFECT!!

Oem+! No cutting and no widebody crap just coils, wheels, lip, skirts, diffuser, rebuild the engine and give the paint correct and a nice detail refresh. Period correct parts would be a great bonus.

Go ham and build the engine but make it oem plus looking. Repaint if needed same color, the full 9! Make sure it doesn't have rust in hidden in areas you can't see. These are notorious for that, I love these year evo's 8/9s. I know you guys will do amazing things with this car! Can't wait to see the videos!❤

I bought a 2003 yellow evo VIII new off the lot. Exactly this setup. Color and all. Made it 350-400 hp and had a ton of fun. I put a blow off valve directly under the hood extractor. So every time I shifted it sounded so good. Highly suggest an upgraded clutch.

for the sharkfin on the G80, my guess as to why its gloss black plastic and not CF, is that actual CF blocks radio signals.

OEM+. Repair/restore as much as possible, replace/upgrade the things that can’t be fixed. Keep it yellow, fix the paint, clear wrap, CS coat to keep it looking nice.

One super underrated mod is the lancer equippe interior trims. It's a dark blue wood which matches the seats perfectly also the metal door handles

Full refresh including original Enkei wheels. All JDM quality stuff on it. Coilovers, intake,exhaust. Rebuild the engine, give it a nice power bump. But keep the looks clean stock.

My uncle has a black 04 evo 8 SSR trim and he’s the first and original owner and he’s had experience on building the 4g69 and tuning it himself!! His Evo 8 is still to this day my dream car, can’t wait to see it, my uncles car has 800awhp with a/c and the outside is stock af no wheels just d2 coilovers and his interior is still stock with the leather recaro seats and has the stock radio with stock subwoofer also has the sunroof which he never opens!! As a little kid my uncle evo 8 was literally a dream car to me and him going fast in that car is still fun!! U guys should literally do a oem+ build no wheels just evo 9 Mr wheels or leave those wheels and lower it’s just simple tasteful oem+ wheels! No carbon hood leave it how it is stock looking outside and fully built engine!! I also know how to have the stock radio with an aux cable if that’s sumthing you guys want to know how to do lmk I have to find the pictures to and send it to u guys so that u don’t have to ruin the stock sound system also have here in Puerto Rico the stock subwoofer for those cars!! This makes me miss my 03 Evo. Such a great car and so much fun in the snow. Mine had an interesting trade in story as well. I got it a few months after they launched and it had about 8k miles on it and I asked why the original owner turned it in. Dealer said the guys gf talked him into buying it initially, then they broke up so he traded it in on the car he really wanted…an Eclipse GT.

Just a side note from the section of Evan messing with the g80… looking at the passenger side the front door is a different shade of white than both the rear door and the quarter. I so hope that’s lighting or camera.

They seem to specialize in these types of cars (sporty cars, special models, etc). Its definitely a blast from the past!

I was at a car meet here and a guy had imported an Evo 8 in that yellow. He was surprised when I asked him if it was a real Evo.
