To the people that dont believe anyone over the age of twenty should be playing video games, that's a really shallow thing to say. To be fair, Simon, it surprised me when i came across this video as i had no idea you played them. As a gamer myself I really dont see the problem. Gaming has endless possibilities. Like playing a story driven game is like playing an interactive movie, or being able to fly realistic aircraft or vehicles with a steering wheel or flight stick that the normal person would never get the chance to do. Its a lot more interesting than watching B list celebrities in a jungle or love island etc anyway. Theres not a lot that beats a good beer and a gaming session thats for sure.

It’s a generation thing, really. I *think* Simon was born circa 1980, so a teenager from the golden-age of 90’s gaming. Anyone older, may not be able to relate; hence this perception that only those ‘under 20’ should play video games.

In my heart, it’s the 8 and 16-bit generation that I hold the most nostalgia for: Master System; Mega Drive, and SNES. I did get an N64 for Christmas, aged 14; but never fully appreciated the last two consoles I owned: PS2 and PS3. I still have my Game Boy Pocket from 1996. I’ll occasionally get out for Tetris and Super Mario Land.

Hopefully this is helpful, the plastic fixture you thought was for lying the ps5 down is actually a stand for standing the console upright. I would use it as a safety precaution but also as in earlier models the liquid metal had a tendency to leak. Obviously I’m just a casual gamer and working on memory of things I’ve read so feel free to disregard! Cheers!

Don’t forget ps5 is also a 4K player built in. If you have any favourite old movies they may have been remastered in 4K ultra hd like the terminator etc. order one and give it a try. It’s brilliant!

Im 41 and still a videogame "enthusiastic" which is a way of saying I dont have the time to play. However, from time to time I get to turn on my old PS4 at night and get lost with Uncharted or The Last of Us while having a cold one, if not Im just releasing some adrenaline playing the new Dooms or CoD. Technology has done wonders (look at those graphics) but the 90s were just magic; SNES, MegaDrive, Gameboy....

Dead Space is one of my favourite games. Completed it three times, possibly four on Xbox 360. Currently playing through it again on Xbox Series X (in fact, I was just playing it before I watched this video). Moving onto Astro Bot once it's done. Read a few comments regarding age... I'm 46. Been gaming for at least 35 years now and have no plans to stop any time soon!

There should have been an Astrobot game preinstalled on the console. I bought my Ps5 from CEX and was able to download it from the PlayStation store. Nice free game that shows the features of the controller

I haven’t owned a console since the PS3. I got to the age where I didn’t have time and couldn’t be bothered with console gaming. In saying that though I have recently over the last year got myself a steam deck. (Handheld gaming PC) and played all the original dead space games 1-3 that I played previously on PS3 in increments. Was in absolute awe playing those in handheld mode and they’re not even modern games now!! 🤣 Haven’t played this dead space 1 remake yet though. Plan to eventually. Looks incredible and really hope they remake 2 and 3 as well.

Have you tried VR? PS5 supports it. I've recently purchased a Quest 3 and it's just brilliant. You just have to be careful sipping your pint with a headset on, but it's definitely worth it. Also Q3 updates when you are turning off, not when you are turning on. I binned my Xbox for making me wait 45 mins to play a game.

Hi Simon, as I've gotten older I've found I get bored with games "on rails" like dead space or any game you have to follow a set path to finish it, it's all just scripted like playing an interactive movie, I've more enjoyed more open world games like Skyrim, fallout 4 or fallout 76, you can go do your own thing and not follow the path set by the game, also finding interesting loot that all have different uses makes for a more interesting and relaxing gaming experience

Are those Q acoustic 3010s? I love Q acoustic speakers waiting to move to get some big floor standers. I’ve got the ps5 kids use it and it operates as a 4k Blu-ray player. I bought red dead the cowboy game sadly I don’t get a look in. 😂 I will say the ps5 controller with force feedback and adaptive triggers is an engineering marvel have a go of playroom to see what I mean.

Call me a grumpy old git (late thirties) but modern gaming is simply terrible. Expensive games that lack content, constant patches including on day one, relentless advertising for micro transactions including ‘pay to win’ and worst of all…..companies can simply turn off servers for games you have paid to own and they will never work again. I have pretty much no interest in playing anything past around Dreamcast. That said, enjoyed your video 😂
