Very useful to know SIM cards are so easy to get. Unexpectedly I'm more interested in having some minutes for (local) calls within NZ as my UK deal includes data in NZ and calls to the UK (but calls to NZ are international).

Question, I have not used a sim card before. I have an Apple phone that supports eSim, do I need to download an app to use a Sim card? If there is a resource to consult for additional information or guidance, can you share that? I am headed to NZ for 1 month and can use it for texting, using the web and a few calls. I do not want to pay my carrier. Thank you.
