I put a shell on my 2004 chevy colorado z71 4 door 4x4 short bed. I first built a platform to put the bed on and storage under. Its cozy and great for just me. Best bed I ever. I sleep like a baby

I had a '73 Chevy with shell for almos5 20 years. I dont know if they still have it but back in the day they had weather stripping that you put between the shell and the bed. It help keep it water proof and quiet. Also consider putting some plywood in the bed. It will help protect the bed, makes it easier to sleep on and crawl around on. You got a heck of a deal for sure.

We put like 6 inch foam in our truck with a shell ! The best comfort ever ! We did a lot of camping at the lake with our two small kids ! Our truck was a chevy half ton.

You can add a pop up camper tent on top of the roof with a build in awning that makes a living room type space off the back end ! My friend has one and she loves it ! Then you can put a kitchen and storage in the bottom bit .

I like it I think it was a good deal ! A cot or a twin mattress on a low frame ( under storage ) a camp stove and a light and a power station and you have an overnight rig . Nothing fancy but doable !

It looks really SHARP! I had one that matched my truck, and the only thing i would question is if you needed to get supplies for builds and stuff, its so much easier just to load things in an open bed. It was real difficult for me to constantly take it off for various projects i was working on at the time. But for spontaneous short camping trips they are great!

Sweet topper, looks like it came with the truck when purchased brand new! That’ll be great to have in bad weather for lumber & grocery runs, etc. Also nice to have for traveling if you get a pull behind camper for extra storage. Load your water sports equipment on top & any gear {camping, music} inside. What more could a person need? 🙂👍🏼👍🏼
