If you intend to buy a used EV there is one this that can determine whether or not the thing is worth anything or worthless: the battery State Of Health (SOH). In this video I'll explain why and what needs to be done.

The other thing I would be concerned about is whether the vehicle had ever been in an accident severe enough to compromise the integrity of the batteries and battery compartment. This might not show until much later when a battery or two decide to undergo thermal runaway..

The Nissan Leaf has a battery SOH gauge right in the dash, twelve bars that disappear as SOH decreases. Something like this should be mandatory on all BEV vehicles.

Battery life/condition and replacement cost have been an obvious concern of mine for some time. They do not want to talk about it. Thanks for getting it out there.

I have a Bluetooth obd2 dongle used with the carscanner app. It shows battery SOH.
