When the Volkswagen Tiguan came to Canada in 2009, the crossover scene was home to an intense battle that's still raging to this day.
Competing with the Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, GMC Terrain and many others, the Tiguan touted 200 standard horsepower, courtesy of a 2-litre turbo engine. This, along with an upscale feel noted for both its interior and drive, made the Tiguan a popular choice for driving enthusiasts.
All-wheel drive was standard or available across much of the model range, though some front-drive and even front-drive manual transmission models may pop up in your searches.
