I am Russian and I live in Moscow, Russia. My favourite British product is Worcestershire sauce by “Lea & Perrins”. It is possible to buy it in all the Russian marketplaces for 600 Rubles (5 GBP). And I don’t use any foreign washing powders because there are a lot of Russian washing powders which are of excellent quality and cost twice as less as foreign ones. Thank you for the video.

Colman's mustard has never ever been sold in Moscow to the best of my knowledge and as I've lived in the UK for a decade I wouldn't say the choice in Moscow is better than in the UK, however it isn't lacking either
@Mike-m7q10 күн бұрын
@@MrSoskok No, it is not true. I repeat that selection / choice in Russian supermarkets is much better than in the UK. I do my weekly food shopping in the UK and I have to visit several shops to find foods I normally eat in the UK. Russian dairy, cheese, meat, cream cake, beer, wine and the rest but cereals choices are much better than in UK supermarkets.

@Mike-m7q well I'm back in Moscow since 2013, may be the situation is different now in the UK. As an English man yourself what sausages do you get in Moscow for a proper English breakfast? I do miss UK sometimes, well i've grown up there...sometimes I just want to fly to Edinburgh to have a pint and an English breakfast at a good family pub... or go to Eastbourne or Hasting and have some fish and chips on the beach...

ago @sjwolf3836 It is well known and widely used approach in West actually. Not a joke. Few years ago I saw some Hollywood movie about exchange of spies during so-called Cold War and laugh a lot. Locations in Berlin, in one same day, but when main hero in Eastern part - everything is dark and gray. When he move to Western part, it is sunny, colors are light and warm :) Also in most western media reports I bet they correct colors. I saw several times news from Moscow (by US media) when skies are gray, but exactly at same days I saw with my own eyes that sky is blue :)) They really apply filters! So yep, such approach exist by media.

McViti's are actually owned by Turkish company. Cadbury is a US business. And pretty much everything even that beer brand which is now made by Dutch company. So, there really isn't anything that can be called a "British product". Even Bentley is now a VW owned brand. So what was actually British there? Mustard? I'd be surprised if it is still British. Most likely Unilever that make it.

I would imagine most of these products aren't directly important from England, though. My Russian wife absolutely loves wispa. The tea and the biscuits are quite expensive considering the exchange rate. And that the average wage in Russia is about £500 and the average wage in England is about £2000. To be paying the same price for tea and the biscuits. I have seen plenty of alcohol in Russian shops. But I haven't seen many of these brands in Saint Petersburg. But great video

Food and animal feeds are not sanctioned. Some big companies have decided not to deal with Russia due to it invading a sovereign nation and annexing territory. That was their choice. There are so many foreign bloggers doing these Russian supermarket videos showing how sanctions are have no effect on Russia and everything is normal. I'm happy for Russians to have food to eat but I don't see the point of normalising the current situation when so many people are suffering.
