If they're cheap it's wrong not to buy. The Kia looks a great buy as does the Mondeo, the Astra well, I'm not a Vauxhall fan but that's not what it's about it's about what will sell and like you say they sell all day long. The Chevrolet I'd probably have given a miss but I think you'll do alright with it. I do believe there's a bloke around the Warrington area that does camper conversions on Elgrand's, blooming nice motors them and that Jaguar at the end was a lovely example. My star of that show was the Saab and I agree with what you said, it's such a shame they're no longer around. Great video again Lee, thanks very much and stay well 👍🏻

I have got to say Lee your knowledge base and skill levels including spinning the spanners is well up there, which you have to possess or you could get your fingers burnt very badly. Loved your Volvo comment I have a XC90 for my sins and love it but also drive a Mondeo estate for my dogs love them and would not swap.

I dont buy lots of them as you need to be a little picky with them from time to time. I would not be looking to get your first car from auction, how ever tempting it may be you could get burned. If you do find a decent car from auction and get a bargain then great but very risky. What sort of car are you looking for ?

I was asked by my then boss , to fill the chassis cills of a car with news papers and fill with filler and rub down put on that wax oil rubberized coating then get some road dirt from under the wheel arches and rub into the fresh work to camalflarg. Then we send the care to auction . Think it was triumph herald?? Then there was the whine in the diff of a lorry to quiet down the noise was with sawdust. Old Bedford I think. And for the king pins mix up some David's isopon. Put in a grease gun and grease the king pins let set to take out the play save doing the king pins put into auction. Then there was clocking the speedos . But this was what a Went on then. I only did the filler on on the car. I left after that. But yes it went on. Sawdust In diffs, gear boxes was well known dodge. Did del boy say live and learn . My son .. a very dishonest practice.

As for the Range Rovers, always wanted one, but I've heard about massive bills when they start acting up.......... talking about massive bills, my C Class failed it's MOT, what a shock, a grand to fix it - - - but to be fair, it's the 1st time in 5 years it's had anything needed, F**king potholes wrecked my front springs, lower suspension arms, shocks

Not sure about the seat, if you had a old 1.9pd engine which I think was the engine in that, (they ran both the 1.9 & 2.0) then it could be viable but alot of work.

That V40 was clean. My mum and dad had a 2.0 S40 same shape and it was solid, very reliable. This one here being the 1.8 has the engine out of the Mitsubishi Carisma, part of the platform share, great cars. Great content 👍

Be careful of ECU signal wire problems on the astra especially if your code is showing MAF Sensor problems but a new sensor doesn't resolve the issue..... Looks like you've had some cracking buys mate

800 grand for a Mondeo. Seems like a lot!! Back in the early 90's we had a Volvo 244 DL estate and the car was an absolute tank and more or less unbreakable. We rallied it and generally treated it like shit and it still kept going, lol. I would have bidded for that X-Type Jaaaaag for myself.......

That Vectra sure is a blast from the past. I had a 1.6 one as my 2nd car and I absolutely loved it, it was great until a Volvo rear ended it and wrote it of, the Volvo only had a broken headlight wiper haha. Bought my wife a Astra K 2016 this year and I'm surprised at how good of a car it really is. p.s. great video, new to the channel :)

No private persons can attend Aston barclay but need 2 forms of id to register for the sale on the day and a refundable deposit. The fees will be more for private than trade. Yes it does annoy me when people stand in the way, some are not aware and others no exactly what they are doing.

What sources do you uses to evaluate what cars book for? Are you just using auto traders, Parker’s etc?

At auctions we have the cap guide on each car which is in the catalogue. However I mainly use my own knowledge of what something is worth as I have been doing it for such a long time. occasionally I will use Autotrader for a retail guide to see what other competitors vehicles are making

The 2010 range Rover, the problem and the vehicles as they are now coming down into the mid to lower end. Secondhand market people are falling in love with the car and not thinking about running costs most people to buy those cars. Secondhand value cannot afford decent tires to maintain the vehicle and so on, and when you take into account, range rovers are not the most reliable when it comes to electrics, suspension fault and so on brand. Even the basic Rotax is enough to kill a sale for one of those vehicles. I wouldn’t touch one with a 10 meter cattle prod.

Having called Aston-Barclays ...... Despite their web site requiring trade account applications only, private buyers are allowed. However, they also advise me that all sales are "successful bid price, plus VAT (20%) plus commission." In total therefore, it's going to be a retail pricing purchase ?! No ?
