Our first family car was a cortina mk1 1969/70. Cost £560 I think? New. The whole family went and my father carried his briefcase so he looked important 😂. We bought a house for 11k in Reading in those days!

Lee at the moment private buyers can't register to bid at G3 Castleford ,(Private Applications are not currently being accepted),from the G3 website. This may change in the New Year I guess.

I've had four Audis - all new and fully serviced by Audi. Excellent cars in the 90's and 00's but after that far too fragile and expensive to maintain/repair. A real shame but I won't buy another. A friend in Germany explained they were basically fleet cars and Audi/BMW/Merc are essentially the Ford/Vauxhall of the 90's. Good luck with the S6....!

I bought a car for £3,700 8 months back and bought the cheapest non-crashed one of the model I wanted that I could find. 144k on the clock. It needed £800 spending immediately and people who know were blown away by how cheap it was. Good ones were going for up to £10k. Maybe more. There is one on the market now for £5,800 - nicer interior than mine, nicer condition bodywork, nicer colour, better interior in better condition and 70k less on the clock than mine. Arguably the other one is £2k better than mine before we consider mileage. One example, but prices could be down 30% in 8 months. Sports car, 2006, by the way.

And that, ladies and germs, is why the auctioneer is cackin' like he is... to keep you from thinking about what you are about to do.

All powerful Beemers, Mercs & Audi's look an absolute bargain until they break, jag/Landys too they've shed 75/80% of their retail value and have to be trade auctioned because they are all potential moneypits and for the average Joe uneconomically to repair 🙄

Dont worry it happens to the best of us, last year i was in Scotland looking for a seat leon fr for a customer, found a good one after 2 days of auctions but the prices where that good i ended up coming back with 7 more cars i never intended buying
