Buying Coffee, Exploring Don Don Donkey & Having BBQ For Taiwan Moon Festival 🇹🇼

So, this weekend is officially Mid Autumn Moon Festival, to celebrate the end of the harvest. I take you for a stroll around Ximen to check out what events and festivities are happening, but to be honest it was just like any other Friday night, maybe tomorrow will hold more celebrations in the city.
First in this vlog I buy some of the best and freshest coffee at my go to cafe, then head around Red House area, followed by the Japanese store Don Don Donkey. After this I stumble upon a family eating BBQ on the side of the street, they very kindly invited me to eat with them, amazing!

You’ll find that Mid-autumn fest is celebrated more like Thanksgiving where people gather with family and friends (but with bbq and mooncakes), as opposed to being a commercial holiday with public events.

Love the video, Dan! Try the crispy donuts next time. I never had them when I was there as they always run out. Ask for the french press grind (coarser) next time, not the espresso (really fine) if you only use it for french press. That Indonesian bbq looks bomb. Thanks for this, felt like I'm back in Ximen!

The espresso works well in my press, so I mostly go for espresso, depends on the brewing time maybe 🤣

台灣以前烤肉是因為一支廣告銷售的烤肉醬非常成功，一邊烤肉還會放煙火慶祝，但是因為地球暖化，所以政府禁止民眾在戶外烤肉以及放煙火，烤肉其實也不是非常健康，台灣對於美食也有很多經典名菜，推薦靠近海邊的漁港可以購買新鮮的海鮮，然後請旁邊的店家幫忙煮熟，非常簡單的調味，保證一吃難忘😊

其實烤肉醬廣告之前就已經有不少家庭會在中秋烤肉了，如果沒人烤肉廠商也不會想到要做促銷，但廣告確實是把烤肉風氣一口氣擴散成全民運動的推手

Try out Zhangmen tap Bistro, Drunk Play or Costa Bianca. They're all great bars on the rooftop and quite chilling. It's the other main drinking area besides the bars you saw behind the red house.
