In our market, that day is my lucky day, I and my son is in the toy store of us and saw Adam passed our store. I 'm so exciting and not helsitate to say "Hello Adam I'm your subscriber " and forgot that may be interrupted working of him. I met the Thailand chief editor of Playboy SE-Asia, he knew Yod Chatri, the CEO of ONEFC, which I’m a massive fan of. He was such a brilliant, humble and nice guy. Coming out of his bar he gave me a stack of Playboy when I left and I carried it drunk stumbling home through BKK. Like 50 issues. You just unlocked that memory for me hahaha.

This looks like a really cool "trash and treasure" market. I went to the Srinagarindra Night Train Market a few weeks ago which was good fun to hang out at and had quite a lot of vintage clothing and a few retro furniture shops, but nothing like the volume and variety of stuff at this place!

Playboy used to be a proper "gentleman's lifestyle magazine". Many of the world's most renowned novelists and political journalists wrote for it, it was actually perceived as an almost classy read you didn't have to be ashamed of being seen with over many years, despite its centrefold (which wasn't that raunchy, anyway). You were probably thinking more of something like Penthouse - that was the far more graphic, full-on "competition".

When Playboy came out it was exactly that, a men's magazine similar like Men's Health today, they called it an American men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine.

I've got a book on the history of nude photography as an art and the sexualisation it became. Playboy's magazines actually started out as a man's magazine featuring man things. Mainly illustrated with car features, latest movies, aftershave and garden tools. It then branched into what we know it as today over a ten year period. But I can tell you they're worth money. The earliest sexualised images were clothed with hip upwards skin and nightwear revealing at the most. It was actually daily newspapers with page3 pinups, that led Playboy's articles to feature more revealing photographs of women, but still keeping their older gentleman readers and older female readers too. Tell you what though, I do love them second hand markets in Thailand for the random items you need, don't need, and what sometimes can be the ULTIMATE in rare collectibles back home . I've already spotted some stuff to buy within the first two minutes. And so glad my ex-wife introduced me to them up north Thailand. I got bundles of real pilot markets containing xylene, proper old school ink. Cleaned the whole four shelves of ink and sold the lot to writers before I even got on the plane back home. And I used to hear waiting for my ex to look around, in the end it was her waiting for me easy 2-3 hours full rummage, Holy batman do I want to find your market.. FFS that's hugeeeeee!!?
