I’ve seen some big creators open cases for hours and it is genuinely degenerate behavior lmaoo. Can they afford it? Almost certainly. But it is straight up gambling, and in many ways it is worse than gambling. The value of a good skin is only as much as somebody is literally going to give you money for.

For anyone curious after this conversation - if FaZe were bought out by either Gamesquare or Enthusiast, public shareholders of FaZe would receive either cash or shares in the new company at an agreed exchange ratio (depending on what the two entities agree to). Given FaZe is majority owned by company insiders, other outside shareholders will likely have no say in the agreed acquisition share price. And given FaZe is in a perilous situation, this puts them in a weak negotiating position. Feel bad for the pain FaZe is going through now but it was incredibly stupid and premature for the company to go public via a SPAC, poor decision after poor decision there. Assuming they were well-funded, they would have been much better off if they stayed private -- former banker

It's just like when a new skin, collection, or bundle come out on any game and influencers want to use it right away to attract more viewers. Except for in CSGO it's about old, expensive, or rare skins; it's a flex. Those 1 of 1 skins with "character" and actual history. An AWP Clutch in front of 150k people would be a lot cooler with a Dragon Lore. Right?! Also, big collectors will rent or borrow skins to pro players - usually ultra rare skins that would be impossible to acquire elsewhere.
