This is the second time I heard Scump snap at the boys for “laughing” abt the knife story. While I completely understand that from a BF perspective, you ain’t playin when it comes to your girl/family/future. And surely for Scump it felt like a fever dream that gave him some PTSD in that moment. Understandable. But at the same time, when Riley laughed (live at halo watch party), or Hector and zinni, I think it was out of awkwardness and the absurdity of the whole thing. If I heard that story I’d probably scoff/chuckle and say “no way wtf??!” bc it’s just a crazy story to randomly hear - an EXTREME and scary story. Not laughing AT the izz or Scump. When you aren’t the one who experienced it, all it is is a wild story that you’re hearing AFTER the fact, and clearly you know that everyone is okay. So taking a comedic approach to coping with the story, is just natural for people. The last thing I think is important to remember is that when someone else is the victim of a situation like this, we joke and laugh (even if it’s something fucked up). Especially out of context. There have been crazy videos and stories that Scump has heard on the podcast, and him and boys start shootin the shit about it - making jokes. Doesn’t mean they have bad intentions or even find the situation itself funny.

I've lived in seattle all my life, homeless situation has always been here. It was only after Amazon blew up and lots of new people moved to Seattle that people who grew up here found out that not every big city has such a vibrant homeless community as ours. I'm also always surprised every time visitors or transplants tell me about a recent scary homeless encounter they had. Not even once have I ever had a sketchy experience with the homeless even if I walk through back alleys and on 3rd all day. Swear they got transplant / tourist radar lol They only mess with them Really don't think that's just a joke either, they can easily tell who feels scared / uneasy around them and that triggers them.
