Hello DJ . I'm always surprised that not a single Asian person I watch ever uses a knife when eating . We can't eat if we don't have a fork and a knife. We cut meat and vegs into small pieces for one small mouthful . We don't use a spoon except for soup . It is really funny how things can be so different from one country to another. Have a good day 😊

It's because the food is generally prepared as bite size for chop sticks, at least that's what I've learned cooking Asian food.

Yes, we use spoon to cut food. Thank you always for watching

They don’t use napkins either at the table to wipe their mouth 👄 If they do they don’t show them. I don’t know how I would eat or look without a napkin. 😅

Hi Dij 👋 good video. I'm glad your curry was good. I like chicken breast, but in curry, drumsticks and thighs provide more flavor. I have a video of Malaysian chicken curry with potatoes and coconut milk, but my recipe requires a few more ingredients. It's delicious too, and I also eat with my hands sometimes because I learned that custom when I stayed in Malaysia. I have tried mung beans but I didn't like them. Probably because as Americans, we didn't grow up eating those types of beans. We grew up eating great northern beans, pinto beans, etc. Have you had deep-fried shallots? They are so good. I buy them in our local Asian market. Great topping for rice and soups. Thanks for sharing your video with us. I hope you have a blessed week 🙏

some Americans grew up eating them

@catea2551 Maybe somewhere, but none that I've ever known. Maybe if they are born American, but their family is Asian. I have several friends of different races here, and none of them ever mentioned mung bean.

I haven’t tried the fried shallots. I will check it. Maybe it’s similar to the fried garlic toppings
@penguinandthechef730229 күн бұрын
@dijeiii06 Hi Dij 👋 Yes, similar, but more flavorful. I buy them here in the US at our Asian market, but maybe the Japanese stores sell them also. I think you would like them. I put them on top of my egg fried rice and spam fried rice.
