I fly drones and airplanes, would this be an ok first heli?

It would certainly be okay, but not "ideal" per say. Check out the 150 S, the 230 S, and even the Nano S2. Those are better starting points for someone new to collective-pitch.

@@HorizonHobbyProducts I'm really surprised you recommend the 230S as a starter. The 230S was my first heli a year ago and now I've retreated to micros. Too easy to break parts on the 230. Too hard to repair and regain normal operation. Too easy to hurt a bystander. Too expensive. I often hear larger helis (and planes) are easier to fly. Sure, you can see the point on a simulator. But $$$$$$. I'm hoping the MCPX BL is the answer for me. Lots of flight time on the 230S and Nano S2. Lots of time on the sim. Goal is simply inverted figure 8's.

My first CP was the original MCPx! It was so amazing. I'm so excited about my new BL2 showing up tomorrow! It's been about three years since I flew a CP heli, but after a few weeks of getting familiar, I'm putting a Caddx Firefly on this beast and sending it FPV!

I have a question about this. How does this compare to the MCPX BL1? Does it have more or less power, and what are noticeable differences? The only problem I ever had with the MCPX BL1 is that if you were farting around not doing much, sometimes you could get excessive tail wag. Never had an issue with power, that heli packed a ton of power for its size. BTW love what you did with this heli, been around since the OG MCPX. Wish you guys would make the NCPX (I guess its the Nano S2 now) brushless too, I would buy those up. I still fly fixed pitches too, and I miss the MSRX, that thing might not fly upside down, but it was just such a pleasure to fly, wish you guys would make a brushless MSRX too, would be a great intermediate option for people making the leap from FP to CP.

I kinda doubt it, and rite now considering what's going on with the world, we might not see much new stuff for a while. I went on a R/C shopping spree before the shut down just so I'd have plenty of new stuff to keep me busy, how about you?

Since you know this Helicopter better than most of us, can u pls tell me what would be the cause for it to just like restart mid flight? Kinda like shuts off quick then start up quick, after that it’ll fly like nothing happened. It happens every one flight in the pack. Thanks

Just got one and it fly’s great. It’s my first EDF and I have about a dozen flights on it and it’s still in one piece. I would love to see a Waco 850mm the same size as the Pitts. You guys have some grate planes. Keep up the good work.

You need to buy a radio. I have the NX 8 and love it. An NX 10 would be another Great option.

I have experience in the simulator with collective pitch helis, but never tried a rear one, if I can fly 3D in the sim can I do 3D with this?

Yes indeed! But, this isn't the best "beginner" model to start with. It is very powerful and aggressive.

This one is bigger and being 2s, it is going to be quite a bit more powerful over the s2, brushless or not. The s2 is also going to be slightly more crash friendly since it is smaller. Just a tiny bit.

Horizon isn’t known for having good parts support for old products let alone current ones.

There are plenty of other helicopters available in RF. It’s a good some but they all fly pretty much the same and aren’t like real life much at all.

Nano S2? Why is that? I am a novice and been great from the start, now doing circuits and flips and its great,dont know about 3D BUT why buy a nano for 3D, just my opinion

@@trinitymirror I fly 3D with my Nano CPX and my CPSs all the time. They are responsive and take crashes well.
