A good idea would have been to include a stencil in the form of a decal for us nitro guys to spot on cut the body.
@robbryan30444 жыл бұрын
Like Kyle said in the video, 1) this is definitely NOT a "beginners" kit, & 2) nitro guys/gals should already know exactly how/where to cut for the engine. I don't run nitro...I'm electric-only...but, is assume that, if you're a nitro person, and are at a 'level' enough to be building this kit, you should already know how/where to cut. That being said, I love my 8ight-XE. I'd say it's my best 1/8 buggy...but, it's my only 1/8 buggy (at least until I finish the body conversion of my Rustler 4x4). Another outstanding job by TLR.

Or after installing the engine, Set the Body on the vehicle and Mark it????? Just a thought. OR Get a body that already has the hole cut out and isn't Butt Ugly and makes it look like a Micro in the Thumbnails???? Another thought..

I feel like these guys have never cut a hole for a nitro engine... it’s never spot on.

@@BlvlWmpower The face has nothing to do with downforce... Also, there's very little on that body that produce downforce.

Actually the front face produces quite a bit of downforce for the front tires. That’s what gives the truck great at speed steering.

Switching in one day would be rough cause the weight. The weight being different would be change of ride height camber and also shock oils etc.

With regard to having the ability to swap between Nitro and Electric, Ryan Dunford mentioned yesterday that it's totally doable - he even had a stripped down electric chassis. It would, however, depend on the investment to buy the necessary parts - obviously, a second chassis is necessary - Ryan mentioned that it's literally like 10 screws to remove and install the front/rear clips from one chassis to the other (being mindful of the steering linkage)... So the question, becomes, how many parts can be utilized from what comes in the kit, and what extra parts need to be purchased. If someone crunches the numbers and finds that you have to spend more than half of what the kit costs, then yeah, I'd say go ahead and buy a new kit. Of course, aside from cost, the other big question would be, would the same setup work between the Electric and Nitro Truggy?

I have a kit on order, and I will run the Spectrum Smart Technology in it. The same that I put in my Kraton EXB. What tires do you recommend for the BMX Track surfaces, and some mild off road. You didn't mention if it comes with shock oil or not. If it doesn't, do you recommend some 35WT in the front and 40WT in the rear for my driving applications mentioned above? My kit is due to ship mid next month. Thanks for the informative video.

This is gonna be my 1st electric Build ever, I seeing the maximum battery measurements online but when I seen the pictures of the battery it look like it had extra Room and it's very hard to find a battery that fits within the dimensions given (138X47x40mm I believe) on the spec sheet can you confirm what size battery I can use or what kinds of batteries other than a spectrum. I don't know if it matters or not but the motor I bought was Tekin RX8T8 GEN3 2250kV (2000kv was on backorder) Thank you, Mike

Serious question Horizon. I was planning on getting another arrma Kraton. But I really don’t want another RTR or the new exb. I’m assuming the reason why arrmas are so tough is because they’re biased on 8th scale buggy and truggy platforms. Would this be a good basher? I’m assuming this kit would be better quality than any rtr arrma. No?
@3dprintinglibrary3353 жыл бұрын
If you're just looking to bash, stick with bashers. The cost of broken parts on a race class vehicle is not worth the cheap replacement parts of a basher. However if you want to race, then yes this truggy is far better and WAY out of the arrma's class of beating around the bush.

That's interesting. I contacted team losi months ago asking if they were going to do another truggy. The response was no, the class doesn't have a good enough following to create a new kit. So my friend who has run losi for 20 years bought the tekno. Now this comes. Wtf horizon?

@jcchaconjr4 жыл бұрын
Not sure who would have said, "No" - but the typical response the TLR guys give for things they can't talk about is, "we are always looking at what's going on in the market"... Besides, how many months ago was that? Didn't your friend notice that Dakotah ran the prototype at the DNC back in February? The big question mark was the e-Truggy, so I'm glad that they took the "Build it the way you want it" approach.
