What I've found really difficult is trying to find good land here that is cheap, but with trees, or just anything more than dirt. Like, I just want a few acres for a homestead between some trees, but all the options I've seen are "no, go to beryl, you can only have dirt" haha

My wifes grandfather left 3 family members 600+ acres near Fillmore Utah, 300 to my wife and 150 each to her brother and uncle. How do we split it it? They have no interest in keeping it but it's all one section and they are tired of paying taxes on it. We would like to keep our part and have no clue where to begin.
