When I repaired my wife's VStrom we bought the sliders (tubes) and a seal and bushing kit (All Balls Racing). Cutting the bent tubes to extract the springs and other internal parts without damaging them was the tricky part. Good as new now! The tubes came from Greece for $300 shipped, seal and bushings were about $120.

That’s my thought as well so I’m keeping the damaged ones. The outer forks are on back order so that’s also why I went ahead and got new ones. Can always learn to put another set together and use later. 🤟🏾

Do you have to use Indian specific fork legs or will those legs slide over any 49mn fork tubes. Just wondering because a homie of mine wants to do gold taller legs.

Nah. With some fabrication, you can add Harley legs. I don't have that skillset so I went back stock. However, I have a friend that sells fork risers that gave his Chief front end more lift for better lean angle.
