Having worked at a European body shop for a few years, where I mostly worked on Porsche, BMW and Mercedes vehicles that were wrecked in Scottsdale, AZ, I can tell you the older Porsches tend to transfer energy less than the newer ones. Also, fit and finish wasn't nearly as fine as the 2000 and up models. It was still better than say, GM or Ford, but not the greatest. I used to love working on the air cooled Porsches, and the 993 was a favorite of mine. I would go with that one. It was clearly well cared for.

I would love to see you restore that 993! As a 993 owner, I'd look at the usual rust spots (window seals) and the door could be a bad check strap (common 993 issue). A manual conversion isn't super cheap but well within your abilities. New box, flywheel, $400 for a new tacho (manual), and the interior trim is the same (replace the plastic gate with a boot!). The front frame rail on the driver's side would be my only major concern w.r.t. that headlight damage. P.S. Happy to send you a bunch of ref material for 993 repair/issues to check through!

No, I can assure you you want thr mechanical hood struts from rennline. They never were out and they hold up the hood better. Check them out, I've put them on my 79' 930 front and back and will be putting them on my 996TT when the hydraulic ones wear out.

Collection sorted in a day 😂 That 993 looks like an easy fix. Problem might be the price ist will be go selling for. It’s a tip…that may reduce price a bit. The 964 are around the same price, or slightly more expensive here in Europe/Germany but 250 KMiles…... I would definitely go for the 993, many of those 993/964 have been imported back to Europe… a 993 here at German auction cost at least 30K$ but then completely smashed….

01-02-23 My DREAM PORSCHE collection No... I have never wanted a garage full of Porsches. You asked that question in a previous video and I gave a very long but to the point answer why I would not do this. Don’t get me wrong I love most Porsches except SUV, eclectic, and Panorama (or whatever that name is) Summarize: - I have a brand new 3 car garage and all ready it is full of 3 cars - No more space to expand - No space for stacker - I am retired and have been for a long time and I have almost free time. Where would I get the time to drive 5 other cars. How would you have time to drive and deeply enjoy all of them. I have one and that satisfies everything. - My neighbor up the street has 12 cars: 2 Ferries, 10 Porsches (1- is a Singer he waited for 2 years to get built) 5 car garage and a warehouse for the others somewhere in town. - Gathering/collecting is not a necessity. - The man with the most toys wins does win perhaps this TINY aspect of his life; What a silly concept to run or base one’s life on. I have an ’86 911 RestoMod-Outlaw and it is: a hill climb race car, show car (Porsche Corporate trophy best DESIGN, daily driver and long distance car; “one shoe fits all” I love your excitement for the Porsche Brand there at the auto wrecker. I wonder how many people watching right now are in the market for a wrecked P-car and have the money to buy one. I scanned the comments below but I didn’t see any such people but to be honest after 20 comments I drifted off the side o the road. But I think ALL who watch love what you are doing and will get vicarious thrills from what you do to fix one (or many) of these cars. Right now you are in the “fore play” part, looking, seeing, touching, and getting excited. Soon the “right one” will be back are in your shop for and you will be going from 1, 2nd, 3rd base. I like how you help any potential buyer of a wrecked Porsche by making a commment and then flash back to your shop to the car you had to fix. Very helpful I would think for others. Miami Blue is a popular color you say ... yes like a million years ago and that is about how many m. blues are out there now, they are everywhere. Nothing worse that going to a cars and coffee and then there are 10 m. blue cars sittting there (of course that is an exaggeration, exaggeration to make a point) Cayman GT4 PASS. TOO MUCH TROUBLE. Pick your fights, sometimes an ass whippin'’ isn’t worth it even if you say later that you are not afraid of anyone but yet your balls are big as basektballs, you walk with a limb (on both legs) and the new front teeth you bought cost $8,000. TAYCAN 4S expensive you say, being expensive doesn’t = GREAT. Purple and green... VOMIT colors and the car is electric ;-(. This is Dad’s car and I am not a DAD. I will watch this part but I will not be smiling as you explain how great it can be. MACAN.. these are just not cars I want to spend time looking or hearing about even though you are doing an excellent job explaining. I am moving down the line of cars. STOP, 993 a real P-car auto, last of the air cooled, at least it is not water cooled. In Spanish water cooled mean donkey poop. Then there is the auto trans... but you said you might swap out shifting Wrecked front bumper up grade to something “racy”and match it on the back of the car. 964 1992 but it is a Targa, these roofs tend to leak. Go to a professional and they can resolve that. You have neve done one at your shop so BUY IT! You ask which one would I (we as the audience) woiuld buy. I wouldn’t buy any but for you but for your business and show content BUY the 962, put some turbo flares front and back, maybe RUF bumpers and you could sell it for a big sack of cash.
