Thanks for this Rach. Can you share your experiences on learning how to drive in Uganda? because that's what it feels like to me and I have driven everywhere all my adult life... but it's been on the right side of the road as we do in North America. I have for a little bit in the deep village in Masaka with virtually zero other cars/boda bodas, but I need to learn how to drive everywhere in Uganda to get done what i got. I resent being driven as you have no privacy - driver all up in your business - eavesdropping on your conversations. Thank you ...oh btw fellow canuck here shout out from the 6ix...

Joseph Harlem hello!!! I’m like the WORST person to ask because I have a very “just jump in” mentality. So personally I just started driving on the roads. First few times were tricky but I didn’t listen to the whole “go for lessons, drive with someone” etc. I personally thought it would be a waste of my time. I’m also an extremely confident driver & just know I can drive anywhere so this worked For me hahah. Not sure for everyone

Kenneth Ocila ballpark figure of cars? I’d understand if you said this about housing but cars? Of course you realize make and model range. How old vs how new. That would not make sense with cars hence why I didn’t mention it. I always keep it 100, hence all my other videos giving exact prices. Please use the internet to educate yourself more. Same way America has poor areas and rich that’s same way Uganda has. People drive luxury cars and own luxury houses. Nothing happens to us. I’ve seen more luxurious cars (Ferrari,Bugatti..etc)in Africa (ghana) being used than in Europe. People just have this 1560 narrative of Africa. Hope this helped
@khrisi94104 жыл бұрын
@ you seem agitated and that's what I wanted to avoid. Many of us (African Americans) are on a journey to repatriate and nothing we say or do is to offend or come across ignorant. I desire to learn thus like any education I must ask questions and research and learn which includes traveling.
@RachaelNalumu4 жыл бұрын
Hello Khrisi! Thanks so much for watching the video & very valid question! So it’s definitely safe to drive around but of course caution is necessary just like driving anywhere else in the world (locking your car while driving, keeping your car inside a gate or garage, etc). To me it’s similar to when I’d drive my entry level luxury vehicle from downtown Toronto to my home in the suburbs but I’d pass poor areas daily (or even when I lived beside a poor area). Also that said car got stolen off my driveway in Canada so that kinda says something 😅😂. I definitely became more generous living in Uganda though even though I’ve always tried to be. But generally speaking I enjoy what I enjoy hahah so I’d drive the same nice car regardless of where I lived.
4 жыл бұрын
Khrisi I adviced you to educate yourself further so I don’t know why you saw that as an issue? You might learn interesting things. Not everyone is out here trynna fight you.

I'm seeing this "safety" question pop up in your comments and it genuinely confuses me. People here in Greece also ask me, "is Uganda safe?" and I never really know how to respond to that. What is everyone so afraid of that they are not afraid of anywhere else? - it completely baffles my mind.
@RachaelNalumu4 жыл бұрын
I get this A LOT in Canada but I realized how badly the news reports or shows the rest of the world, until I actually watch the news. Then I understand. People are shown the worst parts of Africa unless you go out of your way to actually look up Uganda and other countries on your own.

Also, some people who paid to have their car shipped for 3-5 thousand then could not afford the duty and lost their car or SUV. I was surprised you did not push the local car made in Ghana. (PLEASE READ!!! IF Black People ( people of african descent) wanted to stand up and have something to call ours we could create a black owned corporation ran and governed by black people only . Set up embassies or consulates among the west african countries that’s dedicated only to black people in the continent and through out the diaspora ( many people in the diaspora find there self wanting to return back home but are scared of the financial aspects of life) These embassies or consulates would act as an organization dedicated to Educating, bridging the Gap, Creating Generational Wealth and creating opportunities for black people on the continent and through out the diaspora! We could acquire land and open businesses along with other investment. Employ locals a few businesses in grave demand would be ... 1.cement/asphalt-manufacturer, lumber manufacturers, lumber services, 2.Commercial farming and fishing exporting through out the continent 3. Recycling plants -rubber, glass,metal, concrete,iron, Etc. Also fish processing to create fish oils and other products 4.Creating power plants and man made dams for harnessing energy 5.Manufacturing of furniture and other household goods 6.Machinery manufacturers ( Agricultural, Automotive, and electronics ) 7. Create a Financial Institution (backed by a form of cryptocurrency which is backed by gold or other natural resources )where we could invest in the locals of African Descent and their businesses in terms creating a growing economy 8.Providing electronic products, I.T services (backed by black manufacturers) and internet services Used and new phones, tv, gaming systems 9.Crude oil plants which is in virtually everything( and the continent biggest import)- www.ranken-energy.com/index.php/products-made-from-petroleum/ 10.Investing in Education institutions that primarily focuses on Technology,Sciences, Artificial Intelligence ,Math, and African ideology( philosophers, Accomplishments, Countries independence, and Struggles from the continent and through out the diaspora) So can we accomplish this ? I would say yes! Black population Around the 🌍 U.S =42,640,000 if 1 %could sacrifice 500$ to invest in our futures that 210M EUROPE=6,600,000 if 1 %could sacrifice the equivalent of 500USD to invest in our futures that 33M That’s 243M in spending power(not counting many countries on the continent and South America) All Spending will be Tracked to ensure there is no corruption and Business Decisions will be determined by “the people” Each increment of 250$ would act as a share. ultimately getting paid a percentage off profits. Ultimately the goal is to force the chinese and other people that’s (not of African descent) out of business and back to where the are from. We could organize a FB group and advertise to other streams of social media to draw support and or interest. If your reading this ,comment your ideas and if it sounds achievable!! feel free to connect with me if you would like to be apart of this makeafricagreatagain21@gmail.com
