@@Flying-Fox-of-Snowy-Mountain should be just as reliable. I think my biggest issue with the corolla cross is that after you sit in the HRV, it feels like a generation older. the HRV feels much nicer than its price would suggest, whereas the Corolla cross feels...as much as it is.

I am currently driving a 2017 HRV, purchased new in early 2018, w/ 140k+ miles on it. I drive in all sorts of different road conditions, almost entirely at night (night shift hospice nurse). I highly recommend this car. Maintain it and it will last forever

Nice to know. In March I got a 2019 HRV EX-L with just 7,000 miles on it. Love it so far. But i must be doing the heater controls wrong, as It never gets warm enough for me here in Massachusetts. (I deliver meds for pharmacy to Hospice folks, but not in my car, ) tc, Bill

the most interesting thing, is that in USA, a young girl can buy a car which in my country it costs 120x the minimum monthly salary. I feel happy for you Charlotte, be grateful for your life.

(we have a lot of rich people here, but the "normal" medium class, can't afford a "simple" car like that here) A Honda HR-V in Brazil is only for High Managers - Corporate employees which are basically less than 5% of the population. For example today in 2023 (Minimum Salary range by our government is BRL 1,200.00 Monthly (a Honda HR-V costs BRL 150,000.00 or higher. A Finance Manager in Brazil gets around BRL 20,000.00 Monthly. (it means that in Brazil, a Manager could get one car like that in about 7 or 8 months of work. In USA, the same car costs USD$ 25,000.00. (average Manager salary is around USD$ 14,000.00 monthly, in medium companies. which means that, to buy the same car, in 2 months it's possible. if we compare the minimum salary range in each country: USA: USD$ 1,280.00 (monthly average) Car Cost USD$ 25,000.00 (19 months to buy) Brazil: BRL$ 1,200,00 (monthly average) Car Cost BRL$ 150,000.00 (125 months to buy it) =)

If you want to preserve the paint and minimize scratched and swirls, try to avoid automatic carwashes. Check out a few two bucket method washes.

Congrats on your new Honda! I bought a brand new 2023 Honda Civic Touring sedan in January. I’d been driving my ‘02 Honda Civic LX for 18 years, so it was waaaay past time for an upgrade. The car is gorgeous! The exterior is a meteorite metallic gray with a two-tone black/gray interior. Honda calls the seats gray, but they look ivory to me! I absolutely did NOT want black seats since I live in South Florida where it’s pretty hot most of the time. Honda has gone back to their design roots. The exterior is polished and understated while the interior is almost semi-luxury. My steering wheel is exactly like yours and the dash is almost identical to yours. It’s a beautiful car and I’m super happy with it. Safety and reliability (along with longevity) are most important to me. Hondas are great cars, very safe and reliable. I had a great experience with my first Honda which is why I bought another. Have fun with your new car!

Sounds stupid but cloth seats are easy to clean and if they get too dirty you can just use a seat cover. Leather is extremely high maintenance and always clacks and leaves holes in the seat.

The Honda is great choice!! I have a 2015 Civic and still runs smooth. I'm planning to upgrade after nursing school. The Honda ran so good, I don't mind getting another car from the same brand! :)
