Great talking points, I have 7 week old Cals that I bred for my son to show a pen of 3 at the end of the month. We ended up with 8 and saved money by breeding ourselves.

Also it helps if you breed your rabbits at least one time before fair to see how big/quickly the kits get to get an idea of what weight they will be at around fair time.

What do you think about using buried cooler with a corrugated pipe going into it. You can access the kits but they are also protected and stay cool…

Coolers don't breathe. Humidity and stale air is a killer for rabbits.

Ok so I'm super new and I'm planning to do a large rabbit project and learn as I go. I'm looking to do 10 does all together for a large meat project over a period of 12 months. Any advice?

That's a huge project, and going to take a lot of really timely butchering. I'd be happy to chat with you about it. Maybe a better discussion via email? Send me a message with some of your details (# of bucks, breeding schedule, housing plans, etc) and I'll give you my two cents. I currently run about 30 does, and let me tell you, its a LOT of work.
