I am happy that pigs are back online. It happened here also in the Philippines, the African Swine Fever or ASF, one meausre you can do is to avoid pigs from having contact to each other, what i mean is pigs in one pen should not have contact with the other pen. I saw that your pen has division but pigs can able to do nose to nose. If possible close it. Make it also like a cement or hallow blocks. Not steal.

OH. Kieu, NO NO NO NO NO NO. DO NOT put those 8 newly purchased piglets into your barn next door to the 9 surviving 5 month old piglets from the Black old sow, And from memory the two surviving sows from chit and that little pig who had a diseased back. When you purchase new stock/piglets you have to quarantine them for a minimum of 14 days at least 100 metres away from any existing pigs/livestock. This is why you lost your previous herd of pigs. Please take these latest 8 little pigs and place them in the same separate barn that you put the surviving 9 piglets three months ago for at least 14 days or put them in your chicken coup for 14 days. YOU DON"T MIX NEWLY PURCHASED PIGLETS WITH THE EXISTING HERD IN the SAME BARN, that's how disease spreads. I only hope that 1 you just purchased the piglets are healthy and free of disease and 2. you have been very fortunate if these newly purchased pigs are clear of any disease. I am sorry for appearing cruel to a lady who loves and cares for her animals. BUT newly purchased animals have to be held in QUARANTINE for a MINIMUM of 14 days at least 100 metres and in a separate barn from any existing animals to prevent the introduction/Spread of disease to your existing livestock. My apologies for the angry appearance of my comments, but I care for you.

Ok Kieu I hope you are correct in your assessment, but I have seen your barns so why not separate the newly purchased piglets from the 5 months old piglets. Have the older pigs here in one barn , and the newly purchased piglets in a barn as far away as possible. Your current situation is that you have your newly purchased piglets rubbing noses /snouts with the 5 month old old in the adjoining barn.
