Thanks TJ! I'm really digging the early JIM, for the monsters and the cool trade dress. In this upcoming week's video I have yet another one to show so stay tuned and thanks for watching!

Ive been tuned into Tyler's channel since you first plugged him. Or maybe it was mike I cant remember. Regardless kudos to you for facilitating the trade if you will for that comic. Cash/services for thats a sweet deal and a super kind gesture to help his channel

It's really fun to see someone like him who really didn't have a background in collecting to really get the itch and dive in hard, especially on the learning end which there is a lot of when it comes to the golden age. So many people have helped me along the way as you've seen, so I'll help anyone I can. Thank you for watching, Kris!

Regarding vampire films, check out Dr Terrors House of Horrors, a compendium of horror stories featuring Peter Cushing. Also lookout for Brides of Dracula- also with Peter Cushing.

Good afternoon Brandon Great video, I love it when you spread your wings into the Golden Age. You have the awe in your voice as speak of the folk who created the comics for us. Lee Elias and Joe Maneely where both great artist, and yes I went in to refresh thememory of both. Fascinating. Guys just like you working hard to feed the family. If in fsact to decided to persue other Lee Elias work, you could be a very busy mam. He worked on a lot of DC Horror titles as well . Speaking of witch you could start on a vast run Luis Dominguez and Jose Luis Garcia Gomez covers. MON comics is growing in interesting directions. Power on! Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolorkidownunda

Love them Pre Code/Superhero books! Great cover art, man! And of course the Harryhausen connection! 🔥 You’re as obsessed with the Cyclops as I was with the Ymir from 20 Million Miles to Earth! They did both share the same skeleton/armature! Great video, Brandon! 🙌🔥
@Moncomics4 ай бұрын
Dude, I was also obsessed with the Ymir! Ray's creature design on anything was always right up my alley! But I did not know they shared the same skeleton, makes sense! I can't wait to start showing my kids Harryhausen's work when they get a little older, they'll probably laugh at it compared to special effects from today but it's worth a try lol. Thanks for watching dude!

well, i would say theres precode horror and then theres precode horror. having weird mysteries 5 or chamber 19 is a lot different than some random book/cover from that period.... i dont notice where "key ' precode horror has gone down that much,...but, for common less in demand covers of that period, probably so..... its cool you like that era, tho'.....joe maneely- he could have been a main artist for marvel in the 60s... wonder if they could use ai to draw his version of ff 1 or some early doc strange,..marvel, hello.....? good video.
@Moncomics4 ай бұрын
I completely agree there a certain precode horror books that are "grails" or immediately recognizable as definitive precode horror books. Many of those are too expensive for me to obtain. so when I see a book that is precode, and has a vampire or zombie on them which wasn't allowed by the code, and I can afford them then I am thrilled to pick up a small piece of history. I have seen precode "keys" have dropped a little in price, as have all comics since we've come out of pandemic pricing and the market has adjusted, still out of reach for me. I completely agree that had Maneely not suffered his tragic fate he could have been a powerhouse over Kirby, who knows? I'd definitely be interested in seeing AI replicate those versions for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it greatly!
