John from www.discountjuicers.com/ explains the differences between two different style juicers on the market. The Breville Juice Fountain made popular by the documentary, "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead", as well as a similiar model, the Lequip 215XL. In addition he compares that style juicer to the Single Auger style juicers - the Omega 8004 and Omega vRT 330HD. After watching this video you will have a better understanding of how these juicers work, and better know which will best meet your needs.

For juicing mostly greens I would recommend a single auger style juicer. The Samson Single Auger juicer with its end cap will yield the most with wheatgrass, sprouts and leafy greens.

I have an Omega 8004/8006 and I really like it. It squeezes the juice out of the pulp, which comes out very dry. The only thing that I don't like about it is that when you juice apples,nectarines,pears (soft flesh fruits) you have to put something hard through after them to help push out the soft pulp. But the convenience of cleaning, and the ability to juice greens, squeezing out the most juice from the pulp make it worth it, despite the small negatives you might find about it.

Depends on what percentages of each type of produce item you want to juice and also the other factors that may be important to you, ie: speed, ease of use, length of warranty, yield, nutrient quality, etc. Personally if I was juicing that combination I would go with the Omega VRT.

For Juicing mostly fruits, I prefer the Omega VRT juicer, in general it makes a higher yield and is easy to use. Its REALLY important when juicing fruits to select hard, firm fruits, as soft ones tend to mush instead of juice.

Thank you very much for your review. Your video was instrumental in the decision making process and we opted for the Omega -- and have had juice every day for the last month. I cannot say I've lost weight or that my health has noticeably improved, but I have not gained any, either, and am feeling pretty good. Having kale, cilantro, and parsley every day (along with carrots, apples and an orange) cannot be bad. Happy juicing.

Hi John, a few years ago I bought an OMEGA 8004 and I'm lovin' it. Recently I bought a few Comfrey plants. After watching a video by Patrick Dolan from One yard Revolution on "Composting and using Comfrey" where he ground a bunch of Comfrey leaves in his Vida mixer with a little water and poured the mixture on his garden. So, my question is this, "Can I do the same thing with my Omega 8004? I realize that this juicer will remove all of the fibrous materials, leaving only a very strong concentrate. Then I can use the fibrous materials in the compost pile while diluting the concentrate to use on my garden."

Check your local reseller for warranty as my Breville juicer (Cold Fountain Pro BJE825) came with a standard 2 year replacement and 5 year motor, however our reseller was confident enough in the Breville product that they threw in an extra 2 year store replacement on top for free. But 10 or 15 year warranty is awesome!

I do have a video on the powergrind comparing it to a standard centrifugal ejection juicer, and showing the results. Each juicer has its on set of pros and cons. Major help in making my decision of re-purchasing a new juicer after returning my up right "jack lalanne power juicer". More options, easier to clean after wards as excellently described in the demonstration! Yes! 1. the auger and screen frame is made from GE Ultem on the HD model. 2. on the VRT350 the HD is implied on the Omega site, as they do not make a NON HD version. 3. see watch?v=2q50XbF0Db0 for how to clean and make juice in under 10 minutes 4. we can be reached thru email. Omega can be reached by Phone. We are both quite busy and sometimes it does take us some time to respond to all inquiries. 5. Its not difficult. We just need a chance. This is the first I have heard of your questions.

The Omega J8004 is an amazing juicer, extremely versatile and so easy to use. And, as explained in the video - it's exactly the same model as the J8006, only white - which has it costing slightly less. Because of the low rpm's the juice maintains its enzymes much longer and I can juice two days in advance. Omega also has an incredible Customer Service reputation - you just can't go wrong with this juicer.

Depends on your needs. If you will do more hard veggies (meaning not leafy greens) then the centrifugal ejection machine might be best as its faster. If you will juice ALOT of leafy greens then the horizonal single auger juicers might be better. Be sure to watch my other juicer comparisons to learn which one might best meet your needs.

It depends on what you are juicing. On carrots- the breville WILL yield more On leafy greens- the augers will yield more. each juicer yields more or less depending on the item being juiced and the extraction method. Some extraction methods are more effective at juicing certain types of produce. I have produced over 200 videos that show me juicing various produce items in different juicers so you can get a sense of the yields.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 12 жыл бұрын
It will "last" meaning "it wont go bad". But after 6 hours, you will lose some of the nutrients in the juice. If you want to store the juice, I recommend a low rpm juicer. That being said, 6 hour old juice from a breville is better than drinking a canned or bottled juice.

I have not tested many hamilton beach juicers. Basically, any juicer that makes fresh juice is better then purchasing bottled juices. That being said.. I like to make good investments that will last. Most Hamilton beach juicers may have a short 90 day warranty, where some of the entry level juicers by lequip we offer have a 10 year warranty. I believe the better investment is the one that will still be working after 10 years, due to the longer warranty.

Specifically in the question, that had asked for the lowest priced auger juicer. If they asked for the "lowest priced juicer" than I would recommend the Lequip 110.5 that is under $100 and has a 10 year warranty. At present time auger juicers are in the $200 range when they are new. Otherwise a person can attempt to find a used one on ebay or craigslist.

Great video! I am really looking to buy a good juicer. I am not too sure about how much fruits and vegetables I would be juicing, I mean I don't know which one I would juice more. I am aware that the 8006 is better for leafy greens. I am interested in juicing things like spinach, kale, arugula apples, oranges, beets, herbs, bananas, papaya, etc. I know I definitely want to get an Omega because I see it has some of the best and strongest reviews. I'm confused between the VRT or the 8006?

Oh my goodness, thank you John for your exceptional videos! I'm trying to decide between the Omega vrt and 8004/6. I'm pretty sure I want the 8004/6, partly because I really really want the fruit soft-serve option! Also you've pretty much described me when it comes to Whole Foods/leafy greens and I suspect the 8004/6 is going to clog less unless I'm very careful. Now, just to confirm: the 8004 is exactly the same as the 8006 except for color? Nothing's changed in that regard?

while you can do that to make a juice without the pulp, in my opinion, its not a good idea as the blender is running at 37,000 rpm that adds air to the mixture and significantly oxidizes the juice more than an 80 rpm juicer.

Yes, the single augers juice carrots and hard vegetables. That being said, other style juicers may extract a higher yield on hard veggies. Single augers will also juice fruits but its important to select the FIRMEST and HARDEST fruits possible. soft/mushy fruits tend NOT to juice well in any juicer. I encourage eating FRESH over frozen vegetables. Frozen veggies can not be juice, but can be processed into puree (baby food) with the blank plate.

There is a simple typo on the warranty card. According to the box it says 15 years. On Omega's web site site it states 15 years. I have notified the mfg about this, and it still has not gotten changed... On the service charge fee, that is "standard" verbage in the warranty paperwork. If they charge it or not is another story... I havent heard of too many people gettting charged that fee...

Hi John, thank you for your helpful videos! I have done a lot of research on juicers and am leaning towards the Omega Vert but my mom has a Breville (digital screen model w/levels from 1-5, around $299) & she loves it; it does a good job. My only issue that I was hoping you could help me with is the Breville's are stainless steel and the Omega's are plastic. Is there a difference. I feel like for the same price, I would prefer the stainless, but not sure which way to go. Could you please help?

The Omega VRT can make sorbet; but I do not recommend it. It is designed as a juicer. If you choose to make sorbet you MUST pre-cut all your frozen produce before freezing and feed in small pieces otherwise you may damage the juicer. You must also remove the yellow pulp flap.

From your reviews, I'm thinking about buying a BMJ330 or vRT350HD. I mostly want to make 75% cucumber/celery, 25% kale(or collards)/apple/carrot/lemon/etc. Noise isn't that important to me.
