What are the most important things I should get on my first tractor? What comes standard? What should I consider adding or changing? What are some things that I should think of when buying my first tractor? These, among many others, are just a few questions that first time tractor buyers have. Today is a short video since I just stopped at Little tractor & equipment, a Kioti tractor dealers, and there was a prospective tractor buyer looking over a possible new tractor! While these top 5 tractor buying tips may also be useful for a new tractor owner, they are for sure useful for a very first time tractor buyer, who is looking at purchasing their very first tractor. Over my lifetime of tractor buying I have owned the following tractors:
John Deere 3520 open station tractor
John Deere 4720 compact cab tractor
Ford 9n and bush hog; open station
KIOTI NX6010 hydrostatic cab
Branson 73 hp powershuttle cab
KIOTI NX7320 powershuttle cab
KIOTI NS6010 hydrostatic cab
(Currenly I own the 2 KIOTI tractors; RX7320 and NS6010)
Throughout the years and land management projects that we have tackled in multiple states in the Midwest we have learned a ton about tractors! Each tractor purchase and upgrade had specific reasons why I chose the tractors that I did (that might be for another story, it would be a long video!). So today I am sharing with you what I believe are very important things to consider if you are buying your first tractor. Thanks for joining us today, we hope you enjoyed today's suggestions and video, and we hope to see you again on a future video! #kapperoutdoors #buyingatractor #newtractor #newtractorspecification #newtractorowner #kioti #kiotitractor #kiotirx7320 #kiotins6010

All good tips. The #1 tip should probably be “always get bigger than what you think you need”. (horsepower, etc).

My old tractor doesn't have any of your top 5 features but I still appreciate all it does for me. I bought it used 23 years ago (1981 Ford 7600 diesel) and It's my first and still my only tractor.

Truth on all 5. Width and value of your time is the 6th... The game of tractoring is skewed towards 6' wide attachment based machines... If you can go smaller, it will save a boat load. With that cab tractor, pay up or go into debt a bit for the rear dual remotes (one detent, one spring) to run a rear hydraulic top link and other rear attachments like log splitters, chippers, or any sort of backhoe... and front 3rd function (real if you can, but not a deal breaker to get a "diverter" that you have to share buttons to operate on your loader joystick). The number of times I wish I had a hydraulic top link... Frankly, rear driven bush hogs, or finish mowers 2nd hand are plentiful... But your tractor "core" machine is the most valuable thing to get right up front.

Very good additions for sure! I always get 3 rear scv's and use a hydraulic top link! Good point on spending on your 'core' machine, and saving money later with used implements! I like it! Thanks.

I would never own a tractor without a cab! It saved me the first time I bush hogged ,I ran over a yellow jackets nest ,I am extremely allergic to them! Best thing you can ever own!!! Love my cab on my RX 7320!!

That is awesome! I learned the hard way, with my first open station I hit a ground bees nest! I put it in reverse and hauled a s s ! Don't remember how many got me! But I'm not allergic! That was a life saver for you! Cheers and thanks!

Great tips Joe... A guy down the road from me has a 40-horse with no cab. He is running and rebuilding a farm and he's gotta be tough. 30-40 below and the wind is howling and cattle and other livestock to feed. Cab would be my 1st consideration ;).
