2:15 - i'm not sure how much Howard knows about the early space program. When he asks if Buzz was confident in NASA, he's forgetting that Buzz was part of that organization. Astronauts were highly trained, educated and intelligent men. NASA relied on them A LOT to figure out space travel. Aldrin had a PhD and his thesis was on orbital mechanics. No one in the astronaut corps knew orbital mechanics better than Aldrin. He actually wrote a book on it. I mean, after the Apollo 1 fire, NASA basically made Frank Boreman the defacto team lead to figure out what caused the fire. And Boreman commanded the 2nd Apollo flight. Did he have confidence? HE WAS THE ON IN CHARGE MAKING SURE ALL THE BUGS WERE WORKED OUT! These weren't put in a ship and told to go fly. They were in the ground floor of design. Right down to mission parameters. Hell, Dave Scott - a test pilot by profession, commanded Apollo15 with a drive and focus to really stand out as the best lunar geological mission to that point. These Astronauts WERE NASA.

I would have loved to have seen, what Aldrin saw at the moment; the lunar module landed on the moon. To stand on the surface of the moon, and to see planet earth from the surface of the moon...Wow! To be the first human beings in the history of man, to have that perspective... think about that.

This guy is lying. Moon landing my ass. Not saying they didn't leave earth and flew around the planet for a couple of days. It was a hollywood production. Remember this was the 60's. They somehow figured out the technology to get there, landed, walked around without any unexpected problems, and successfully lifted off and made it back. Now com'on !!!! SMH... LMAO

The damage caused by radiation is tied directly to the dose. There are three ways to reduce your radiation dose: Shielding - get behind something that blocks the radiation Distance - get far away from the source of the radiation Time - get out of dangerous regions as quickly as you can Shielding: There was a small amount of shielding from the Command Module skin. I’ll accept that it wasn’t all that much shielding. That’s not surprising. Useful radiation shields tend to be thick and heavy. Distance: That’s actually quite important. The Van Allen belts are toroidal - doughnut shaped. They don’t have hard edges, but they’re fairly well defined. Apollo trajectories between the Earth and the Moon were designed to keep the spacecraft out of the most dangerous regions of the belts. Time: This is the big factor. The Apollo spacecraft were moving very rapidly when they were near the Earth but not in orbit. That kept the radiation dose to acceptable levels. During the lunar Apollo missions, the astronaut crews received more radiation than they’d have gotten in Low Earth Orbit. It increased their life-time cancer risk slightly. That was the only effect of their interactions with the Van Allen belts. The average radiation dose for a lunar Apollo mission was about 0.5 rads. That is less than 50 milliSieverts. True, that’s not an insignificant dose. it’s roughly the annual limit for a nuclear radiation worker. Note that for Apollo 14, the crew received over twice that figure. That’s roughly the total legal limit for five consecutive years for a nuclear radiation worker. For one mission (or, in the case of three astronauts, two missions), it’s acceptable. The “Belt o’ Death” myth is one of the sillier “pseudo-gotchas” that the conspiracy crowd keep regurgitating. It doesn’t stand up to even modest scrutiny.

Vanallen belt is what NASA and science calls it or what they call it in the bible ... The Firmament. Operation Fishbowl proved we cant get past it also look at what Wernher Von Braun's headstone says: His gravestone reads: WERNHER VON BRAUN 1912-1977 Psalms 19:1. That scripture is: “The heavens are telling the glory of God and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.” (is this a death bed confession that he wanted on his headstone) and also why did the Astronaut's read this very scripture in more detail on the way to the moon to the live television feed back then... think about it they're telling us the truth in the scripture's from the Bible

Dude, you've got libraries and expert explanations at the tip of your fingers. The Van Allen belt's radiation albeit dangerous if you're exposed without protection wasn't significant enough due to the speed of the spacecraft flying through it. The walls of the spacecraft was sufficient protection. The Earth's magnetic field and the radiation "belt" within it cover a small portion of space given the true distance between the planet and the moon.
