You had me at messy mash :-) Sorry I have to stop watching your video's now, why? Sit's at kit for like 3 hours, finishes.... Sweaty, smiles, smashed that mash! Feels great... Watches Em, realise he has so much to learn. Cries to himself in the corner. :-)

Novice drummer here... thanks for this. I've always done these 2 instictively when playing and over time felt it out how they are different, but I've never known the technical term for them

I think it’s more common for people to confuse ruffs and drags and I believe there’s a rudiment that is a buzzed flam but I can’t remember what it’s called

That makes sense. Now, how do you do a buzz roll? Meaning, how do you get the left+right in time to "roll"?

Are you able to just do a controlled buzz to supplement the double stroke? Like just let it bounce exactly twice and that's it

Short answer: yes. Long answer: That would be a double stroke then. No one said you can't use rebound and pressure to make doubles easier. Work smarter not harder.

The volume of the drums is kind of low in this one. Good short though!

So, if I got it right, a buzz roll is a wrong played drag, isn’t it?
