Pete Shelley, So underrated as a Guitar player/ vocalist! Yes his songwriting will always be acknowledged, but he was a hard working , solid guitar player who helped to create an amazing sound from Manchester, that epitomised the 'pUnK rOck' diy ethos , that travelled around the world! Got stuck with this stuff since I was 6 years old. My brother's fault. Hated it because I didn't know better. After I played guitar for a while, I got to learn some...a lot of the songs from these guys. These fellas ARE the Beatles of the Punk wave. Nobody writes like them. Nobody plays like them. Nobody is disrespectful to them unless they love Stadium Country. But do we really need Stadium Country?
