It's interesting that 1978 Magazine and the Buzzcocks were giving equal billing in this documentary but nearly 50 years later it is the Buzzcocks star that has shined so much brighter than Magazines

The Magazine performances on here are phenomenal. Literally makes me teary eyed by how captivating it is. I had no idea that Howard Devoto was such an incredible front man. The musical intricacies really shine-much more than the studio versions, in my humble opinion. I have a whole new appreciation.

Good documentary on a period (and artists) that inspired my formative years back in 77, at 14. But then, as 78 went on, 3 albums came that made me, yet another time, stop and think - ''First Issue'', ''The Scream'' and ''Real Life''. Today we call it postpunk, but at the time it was just the first signs that that ''very same thing'' was about to change, maybe in form and not necessarily in spirit. Thanks a lot for sharing. it was quite memorable.

Howard Devoto was a truly great punk and of course post-punk frontman singer. He was very non-mainstream though, the reason why he was so obscure in English music.

I like Devoto and a lot of Magazine stuff - but I'm really glad he left the Buzzcocks. The subsequent Buzzcocks are about as important to me as the Ramones, or the Pistols. Magazine is amazing. Bands like the sparks and bands like the fall and then the smiths were bands that to me had something intelligent to say and deep. Like peter Gabriel's earlier work. It was good having bands that gave you more than the 4 chords and angst. Dont get me wrong the Buzzcocks were brilliant. And when you were in the mood for that energy , it was great. So yeah something for everyone.

GOOD EARS 'Metal Machine' soul brother! It's been 10?15? YEARS since I could readily hear some short blats of sound from of my ancient vinyl copy of that record. It's those Brits and their fearlessly-eclectic musical taste and vocabulary, their encyclopedic musical knowledge and their Devil-may-care ''take it or leave it''' attitude about who may like it and who may not.
