He might be a talented producer but Kelly is at a point in her career where she does not need to take crap and be quiet about it. So when she decides not to pick those songs she is making a statement regardless of how good or not those songs are.

It's because of the situation around the song, and how the label forced her to work with Dr Luke, who was very shitty to her. The label wasn't great about her saying that she didn't want to work with him either. If it were me, I wouldn't be too stoked to look back on the work in that part of my life either.
