This was a good video; everyone was very respectful. As a Nigerian I think the reason the Senegalese and Siera Leonian Jollof did poorly is because we Nigerians want our food and especially jollof to hit hard when it comes to flavor, we love big bold flavors, so the more reserved style of Senegalese and Sierra Leonian jollof are fundamentally incompatible with our palates assuming that the Sierra Leonian and Senegalese women made jollof that was representative of the jollof of those countries. respect to everyone who participated though.

As a Senegalese it’s always so funny to me that we are never invited/ featured when the UNESCO recognized the dish as Senegalese.
@tgc228 Жыл бұрын
Ibr I've had Senegalese jollof and while it is nice it barely tastes like the same dish as Ghanaian/Naija jollof. The technique may be similar but the spices and flavour are completely different

Its because they would lose - Nothing beats the original. The spices set it in a league of its own

Yes crazy ! The way Senegalese prepare it, can't be equalled let alone bettered. They are the owners and masters of Jollof rice. Only Nigerians think they do it b4etter but if you ask someone from another country they will always say Senegal.
@prosperchidexogbodo5386 Жыл бұрын
@@aminarassoul respect to the Senagalese tho, but Nigeria and Ghana made it popular to the world, and the feud between the two countries about whose is better even made it more popular, that doesn't mean Senegalese jollof isn't rated, it's not just popular. I'd like to try it one day tho.

@@thekid8224 looks and smell may be somethings but taste is another. So I'm pretty sure the Nigerian Jrice got the tastes even without meats, fish or whatnot.

@@amos_eternal you're absolutely right looks and smells are one thing taste is another. Only thing is from the video we both watched when it came to taste seems ruth done well there to sia said Ruth's jollof set the standarded yet gave her a 6 doesn't make sense. It's very obvious sia and temi underscored ruth this happens all the time in these types of competitions when they come across food that they know could potentially win they underscore
