Akua is a very confident, intelligent and articulate. She's also a talented cook because I knows her personally and I've had an opportunity to enjoyed her delicious cooked dinner before. She knows how to access and pick her ingredients to cook the waakye to make it come out so sweet and tasty, so all those attacking her without any tangible reasons must shut up and go have a life. As a matter of fact this beautiful cooking competition is about fun love and respect, so I don't understand why there are a lot of imposters coming up with useless comments. This shows how hateful and disgusting a lot of our Ghanaian brothers and sisters are. If you see a sister rising and blossom like a rose flower and you can't match up with her brilliant pace the best thing to do is to give her a bunk up and not a stincky attitude kmt. Akua is arguably the best waakye cook among all the contestants so if you don't agree with my opinion and you gonna go on running your mouth with hateful words is your your own choice. I rest my case.

Thank you! My sister knows how to cook! Everyone has what they like and that’s fine. She gets booked to cook for people personally and for events ALL the time and her food speaks for itself! All you people sitting behind your screens judging her on her confidence, should maybe try her food first before speaking on her character!

I can't help but feel like they purposefully add a more critical person in the mix to keep the video more interesting and to milk more comments out of people, which seems to be working. Similar to how a lot of "reality" tv shows will stage a conflict in order to keep viewers from getting bored. It's for entertainment purposes. Somebody else said the same thing on a different video and I think it's true.

For those wondering, waakye is like rice and peas on steroids (emphasis on "like" -- not quite the same). In true Ghanaian 🇬🇭 fashion, we load it with everything (fried plantains, boiled egg, 'shito' [blackened pepper sauce], caramelized onion/tomato stew, beef chunks, fried fish, 'gari' [cassava flakes], 'taalia' [stewed spaghetti], a bit of salad and 'wele' [what Nigerians call 'ponmo'.] It's truly a delightful harmony of sweet, savory, spicy and full-bodied flavour that gives jollof rice a run for its money. 😋 If you could only eat one Ghanaian meal for the rest of your life, it should be waakye. Waakye is 💯% THAT girl!!!

I love Waakye with Egg, Shito and Stew or just Shito alone. I wouldnt have complained about no stew or no egg tbh, as long as there is tasty Waakye and a JAR or Shito, i am happy lmao. However, I have some friends from different cultures who don’t show much of interest in my culture because they just worry about theirs or prefer another culture from my opinion. It can be hard to discuss these things especially with friends. That also could be the reason. It makes me happy people show an interest in my culture and want to ask questions.

Waakye is a very tricky meal to prepare. It's basically a street food with a distinct flavour. The stew especially can let you down. Home waakye taste way too different from the street ones we buy from our mothers and sisters from the North. Well today IL tell you,.we take nutrition a little more serious in Ghana. Every meal must be a balanced diet even if you can't afford to have any form of meat protein you can always do with an egg. So let's say whatever meal we may be planning for the sake of proteins to make the meal balanced you should at least have an egg.

Man, always... always the attitude is off putting. Watch the one where chef try each others's dishes and most of the time they actually compliment each other - those who had the skills to back up their comments and scores tend to be less critical but always... those who are just plain home cooks are just hating and critical.
