@@PurpleHazePromost known and liked foods are griot (seasoned fried pork) and diri djon djon (black rice/black mushroom rice) with a sauce like the Haitian lady has with her rice. If you are vegan, then white rice, beans sauce, and legume (lots of veggies that are cooked and mashed together) would be good to have meatless or lalo (similar to spinach). Some people put green papaya in their legume and some don’t. It’s good both ways imo. Oh another popular food is soup joumou, which is a squash/ pumpkin soup that is traditionally made every New Year’s Day.

My parents are from the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, and we say rice and beans. The Spanish side calls it gallo pinto.

Have you guys seen the news because Haiti is a very cruel place. I literally just saw a news where it's said Daughter and Son-in- Law of Missouri politician Ben Baker Killed while working as Missionaries. Haitians Kill their own presidents and love kidnapped people and kill them. Even Haitians hate Haiti. They keep taking boat coming to Jamaica. You may have good food but something wrong with the country. Unfortunately the good have to suffer for the bad.
