I’m an old guy-ish guy, age 75, and have loved Betty White for a very long time. I remember her early days on TV, and as much as I loved Mary Moore Tyler on her shows, Betty made a great Sue Ann Niven on Mary’s show in the 70s. She was in lots of TV until her 90s and passed away at age 99. What a great history….

Judy Kay really got robbed in the Alphabetics round with the frozen clock. - Assuming that the video playback is at the correct speed, she was shorted time (Alan said "Go" as the KZbin clock changed to 9:01, but the buzzer sounded as 9:58 turned to 9:59) - At 9:33, Alan discovered that the on-screen clock wasn't running and says, "Wait a minute!" which caused Dick Martin to pause for a second before resuming the round - She says "Saloon" at 10:01, which I argue would have been in time had Alan not butted in to say, "Wait a minute!" I initially thought she also was robbed between "N" and "O" with Opera not lighting up right away, but upon further review that was an issue with the camera for "Opera" not being punched immediately (the "O" would have been visible without the "pera" if it had been a delay in revealing the word on the board -- of course, there's no way to tell if there was indeed a delay there since the camera shown wasn't on O until after it was lit).

I agree. When Allen said "Wait a minute", that took an extra split second off. That split second could have given that young lady the win.

That big dude playing with Betty White seemed awfully tense.He didn't seem to enjoy the game.Glasses in the early 1980's were really large, as that young woman's were.Dick stalled too long at the letters, during the alphabet speed quiz.I knew that one word on the board was garter, when band was added to the listing.

Yes and yes. There is a panel on the dais with the password on it. But that is for the studio audience. The one seen on TV is superimposed over the actual panel on the dais.

@@erikbunty2016 I really wouldn't call what Rick has as a mullet. His hair really is too long on top and over the ears to be a mullet. But he definitely has nice hair and that was the length a lot of guys had their hair in 1979.
