stops people swapping engines/bikes, the event is about human endurance as well as bike reliability.

They mark the parts of the bike you aren’t allowed to replace during the event.

What happens with fueling the bikes up is it possible to do the 5 days as solo

The army supply all of the fuel stops for the event so it’s covered in your entry fee. Impossible to do this event without the army help as the fuel needs to be in very remote places at times.

How did you get to do that many rides if the entry for the competition is done on ballot?

Sometimes missed out on the ballet and have gone on the reserve list for an entry a fair few times, sometimes getting a ride very close to the start of event.
