We have 0 and I mean 0 shame in ground swatting grouse in northern MN
@FischerFan11 ай бұрын
Why should you? It's not like the goshawks, owls, foxes, etc. have any shame in it, either.

What map are you using to scout at the 2:50 mark?

Plain old google earth satellite view.

An area off of Jasper that's literally never been hunted? 😂😂😂😂. All of this land belonged to indigenous people before Europeans invaded. Pretty sure they hunted the area.

Now it belongs to us all and I'm gonna hunt the crap out of it!🤣🤣🤣🤣.

It makes no sense to go to so much work for a couple of birds - but yet most of the last 60 years, of my 79 years on the clock, have found me tromping those trails and woods. Next fall I'll load up my new, 1yr old Vizsla and drive the 1500 miles from my (now) Florida home to show her a few good spots I know to find a bird or two - It makes no sense.

Right? Except they're adhering to English sport/upper-class hunting ethics, where they let the birds fly. Doing that is a waste of time if you're grouse hunting in BWCA. If you want to actually have something on the dinner table and not go hungry, you shoot grouse out of the tree when you're lucky to find them that way! Usually a cleaner kill too.

You know sir, i totally get you. I'm from north east Canada, we have nothing but grouse up here, rough grouse, spruce and the odd sharptail, and the fever still hits me every fall, but i found better success using a close working flushing dog, had pointers before, best of luck next fall with your pup

It makes perfwct sense. Where can you find that absolute trademark smell? The damp sounding woods. The yellows, the reds if maples, the crisp in the air.its what makes it

@@sonofjohn607 yeah i carry a 22pistol and find great sport in sending one 38grain pellet though them. Either on the ground or in a tree. They rarely are flying away where i hunt. Can damn near catch them by hand.

I simply do not understand the fad of using GPS dog collars. I feel sorry for all of you who have dogs that range out that far. Not my Brittany.
@knppstr542 Жыл бұрын
My dog sticks close but i still run GPS on him. Its a cheaper alternative to replacing your dog if it does wander off or get stuck in a snare/hurt themselves.

@@knppstr542 I just must have one hell of a well trained dog then. I would never need that for him. Never.

Wilderness Outfitters no longer exists. (A little thing called not paying TAXES for a long time. Feds didn't like that.)

A northern forest looks like a rain forest? Yeah...no.
