Yutarisa has been in medal position in every Olympics & WCH since 2019. Their time will come, especially when Arisa is getting better and better. ZSW & HYQ deserve this title as they have been dominant in XD for nearly 5 years, except for 2021 when ZSW suffered from injury. Congratulations to both teams! I have seen at least 3 finals between these two pairs, always happy with their performances. and I saw they greeting each other so friendly at the end of the matches, happy to see that.

Although I really wanted the Japanese pair to win their maiden World title, I couldn't see that future. Eventually premonition became reality. Higashino simply couldn't hold up against Chinese relentless attack. I was impressed by Huang YQ and Huang DP's defence watching yesterday's SF. They defend like a male player. If they are not forced to rely on crouch defence, they can endure hard smashes at least three times. Moreover, they even change the momentum of the rally. In today's final, however, once the shuttle was lifted to Zheng SW, the rally was 90% Chinese. I'm not gonna take any credit away from 2 Chinese players, but this difference is desperately huge to turn over. I really hope she finds some sort of solution in near future.

The only solution would be for Higashino to become better at defending...though I don't know how it is going to happen. This isn't a new problem; it has been like that for a long time. As far as changing the momentum of rallies, I don't see her being able to do that, though I would like to be proven wrong.

Not only defense, but Arisa is still not good enough at net play and consistency (she makes mistake very often) compared to Huang.

Congrat to both pair. Despite love to watch Watanabe/Higashino play matches, but i think Higashino performance today is rather disappointing. Glad to see Watanabe tried to pull the team together but still opponents were simply overwhelming. Glad to see Zheng/Huang back as a pair and perform like it was before 2020.

In the Championship point of Chinese pair, nobody said anythings about Higashino’s defences of two first Zheng Si Wei smashes, most of them blamed Higas for the final weak defence. How fair you are! Nobody saw how hard she tried. Not at all, Higashino! You are the best! Keep fit and win the All England title again, Watagashi!

Zheng/Huang was just a better XD pair today. Even if we take out the japan's unforced errors, Zheng/Huang would have won it anyway but with a tighter score or in 3 set. As you can see, the chinese pair is doing almost all the attacking. It's difficult to win by defending, even with no unforced error.

I think Higashino cries not because of losing or mistakes. She did not agree with the referee judgments at least 2 times for the high serves of Chinese pairs. After shaking hands with Chinese pair at the end of the match, Yuta pointed to the serve referee which means 'I will remember your face' but then suddenly he came and talked to that referee and Gill also said that Yuta should be careful and not to do that.

But it’s impossible for the athletes to see better than the service judge of the high serves, not even the judge. So there’s really not much of a base for any disagreement. It’s unlike a line call where the athletes themselves can see.

i think they were complaining that huang ya qiong served too high with her flick, but the service judge did not make a call so the umpire ignored the japanese pair

That means the Chinese pair serve well. The umpire doesnt call means the height of the serve is alright. However the japanese pair just complains to the referee.

I agree with you if this were a local club friendly, where constantly attacking the physically weaker player (usually the female) comes off as rude. But this is the World Championship final, players use the most viable strategy to win.
