? Why is Marin´s behavior not acceptable? There is no problem - if her opponent is purposely delaying the game, every single ball, I understand that she wants the shuttle to furtherly dictate the pace of the game, that is a privilege of the server, to determine when the point starts. Also, shouting / celebrating too loud can be intervened by the umpire? That´s so dumb.

Marin is just horrendous on court - really terrible attitude. Her screaming needs to be addressed by the BWF. She is by far the worst for unsportsmanlinke behaviour. The umpire was too soft and let her off a few times before the flashpoint. When she said "why", he could, and should, have given her many reasons. She just wound PV Sindhu up, who is also very competitive and has had her moments on court (but not on the same scale as Marin).

I still can't forget the 2016 Olympic semifinal match that Carolina played against Li Xuerui of China. In the 2nd set, Li picked up an injury and was not able to move to retrieve the shuttle, but she decided to continue to finish the match in the true sense of sportsmanship.......At that stage, I was shocked to see Carolina screaming after winning the points when it was very obvious that Li was not even attempting to return the shuttle. Caroline scooped so low on that day that nothing surprises me anymore coming from her - however, I do wonder at times how the BWF has remained silent while she has flirted with this undefined part of the rulebook when it comes to sportsmanship!

The main reason for what is happening is that the referees are not fulfilling their function, where they not only need to change the score, but also monitor the culture of the players. After the Olympics/WC, Marin was allowed to behave in a similar way on the court, without ever being given a red card for it! She got used to it and it became the norm. This is the worst thing in current badminton, a player who under normal refereeing simply would not have the opportunity to play and allow the younger generation to see that such behavior is acceptable. This is a true shame for BWF.

I wish the commentary portrayed exactly what happened and not the usual neutral one. Everyone who saw the match live knew how Marin behaved and the umpire always called Sindhu and warned her first. It was the umpire's decision to not take any action and just keep warning which has led to such behaviour of Marin. If only a Marin would have been penalized at least by giving her opponent a point things could have gotten under control. In fact a red card would have made much more sense . It would have given belief to viewers ( budding players ) all around the world that the playing field is equal but on the contrary allowing such behaviour such as Marin and letting her get away encourages budding and promising players to believe that those are the ways of a winner

But, every shuttller has been trapped under her off court tactics but only Sindhu was who shown her aggression for Carolina. Sindhu not belongs to those player who will trigger easily unless any biggest fault happens. Carolina was breaking the deqourm of the badminton rule even umpire was not resist it. Look at the world final when she lost to ASY. Exactly...Winning tournaments is more important than winning hearts...What if Sindhu won an Olympic Gold,All England, multiple World Championships with that attitude...We will all neglect those negativity bcoz she had performed when it mattered

@@SivaKumar-dw3zf with that attitude, you will only keep playing while others winning. no wonder 100+ crores hardly 10 olympic medals. if u can not play games then u should have the mental strength or talent to win not just play.

@@gdmn-m1j That's not the reason. Negativity, stress, cunningness have no place in healthy sports. May be Indians are more evolved and the rest of the world will catch up too !
