Kodai disini masih rank 48, dalam waktu singkat tdk sampai setahun ia sudah menduduki rank 3 dunia, bahkan di tahun yg sama dengan Thomas Cup ini ia berhasil masuk WTF2022 sbg satu2nya wakil MS Jepang, bukan Kento Kenta Kanta. The first match between Ginting and Momota was really good. Ginting in the first game won in a confident and business like fashion. In the second game Ginting seemed to lose concentration and take his foot off the gas a bit and allowed Momota to get back in the game. In the final game Ginting upped the pace. Momota could not handle Ginting's amazing shot placement and it seemed to cause Momota to 'try too hard' and lose confidence.

if u wonder why Japan MS3 was naraoka instead of tsuneyama it's because Nishimoto is the MS 2 and he's ranked lower than tsuneyama, I think japan's plan was to get 3 points as fast as possible because Nishimoto got an excellent record against christie that's why Nishimoto is the one playing MS 2 Instead of tsuneyama who hasn't really been great against christie even tho he got higher rank then Nishimoto, if tsuneyama is the one who played against christie it's probably will be 3-0 instead of 3-2, the critical match here is MD 1 Hoki/Kobayashi slipped the first set was a big miss for japan

Momota lost to LZJ and Ginting here - His form has been really sloppy off late, and it has been a while since COVID and/or the accident now. I have been a great admirer of Momota, but he has lost too much in the past ~year or so, especially in critical situations. Unfortunately, if this goes on for a few months, he will cease to be a serious contender, outdone instead by Axelsen, Zee Jia, Kean Yew, Antonsen, Sen, Ginting and Viditsarn in the future.
