This is a very good test for Ohori. Her last match against Tai was in 2016, that's more than a yr ago. Now Tai is more mature and solid, presenting a whole new level of experience for Ohori. One thing I observed, among others, is that Ohori seems to have hard time hitting the birdie in the sweet spot of the racket. When she smashes, you can hear that the sound is not quite right, more like "chia" than a sounding "piah". One time I even heard a "kia", indicating that she might have hit it at the frame. It's only in the very end of the macth, at 19 vs 11, when she smashes a full-power hit with a crystal "piah" . It seems that she didn't have the racket angle right, or couldn't time it very well. This reduces her power significantly.

Different level for both 2016 and 2018, Ohori footwork cannot catch Tai's shuttlecock, that's why she's unable to show her power. :>

Runsun Pan the shot that ohori made in the first set 19-11 is actually a slice dropshot not a cross court smash. It made that sound because the shuttlecock is slice or brushed over the stringed area of ohori's racket. So technically she had the correct angle.She just put to much power for a dropshot

It’s a paticular stringing technique called GOSEN, it stretches the string more evenly allowing tension to be more consistent than traditional yonex or victor stringing methods. (Both are different, yonex racket has two string four knots while victor is one string two knots. GOSEN is also one string two knots.)

You're welcome! Whilst understanding how the racket is strung might not really help you play better, I would like to point out a few things. I used to play with Yonex rackets, but I have kind of switched more towards Victor recently, mostly because it does feel that in their range it allows a higher tension that suits me better. The two brands actually have their own stringing methods. Strings like AEROBITE (YONEX) have two strings of different thickness strung to the same racket. That is unique to two strings four knots stringing methods. In that (yonex) method the vertical string and the horizontal string have different tension that combine to the tension requested. In Victor however, the one string goes through the entire racket and it has same tension in the string. Supposedly, the less knots, the less tension lost through time. Supposedly. So even as you say, traditional, there are two methods. Anyway, I hope it was beneficial!
