Bruno Figueiredo I could but they are not pro yet. The Chinese program only sends them out when they think they can be champions not just participants.

I think shi yuqi could be a good contender. He lost to Kento in the Asian games but seems improved a lot in the Thomas Cup. It would be interesting to see he play Kento again. Well, if Axelson did not get angle injuries, he could beat Kento in the Thomas Cup. But I completely agree, Kento is currently world No.1.

China were in fact very lucky to win the second doubles as it could have gone either way.But then Japan had only themselves to blame as their pair were holding match point and could have tied the score at 2-2.But they failed to score the winning match point this allowing the Chinese pair to pip them at 22-20.Thus China regained the Thomas Cup they last won in 2012.

Why did coach Park Joo Bong made a last minute change to his two doubles line ups?A strategy to catch China by surprised but it backfired in the 2018 Thomas Cup final. Japan almost won the second double and in fact were holding match point.The score should have been tied at 2-2 with Lin Dan needing to win the last and fifth crucial tie.
